If we did use stuff like a URL for instance, and some legitimate players mentioned that URL they'd be banned/locked.

He said flag, not autoban. Basically an auto-report function when certain things are sent through PM.

Also, we can't see PM's on other accounts ;)

Not easily.

Both points are correct, my apologies :)

Ok... not a programer or anything, but couldn't you flag a certain line of text that would alert support if someone used it in a PM?

IMHO, no.
We can't predict what they are going to use.

I didn't mean an auto ban... I just said alert support. They could use it after a PM like this started being used, so they could act quickly once they knew what the PM said.

Yeah I read that wrong sorry, it would definitely be a good system if we had easy access to PM's, but we do not.
A 'report' button on PM's would be a nice way of alerting us to the problem quicker.
An autoflag system would be a bit risky anyway (Unless it was strictly urls that are known to be malicious), because if anybody at GGG starts poking around a bit too much it would be a PR nightmare.

Or you can just hire a witch doctor to put a curse on the PM senders
I carve and sell real animal skulls, check out my work here: https://www.instagram.com/victorseiche/

World first Uber Atziri as 2h and 2h RT build: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1058950
Highest level char in Closed Beta, Wytchfindergeneral
Well... PR nightmare... you're using their software on their servers, it's not like it's email client. I would never put anything through here that I wouldnt on a public blog.

And I'd rather GGG employees violate my PM privacy if it means cutting off these scams faster.
I never said the PR nightmare would be deserved, just that it would happen.
That's how humans are.

Thanks for keeping the playerbase informed. Free bump.
