How do I get one shotted????????????????????????

Welcome to POE2 the game that was designed to drain the fun out of ARPG's. Certain dev's want the game to be super slow unrewarding with negative fun reward.
Difficult and fast is the winning strategy
As you gain wealth and character power you can decrease the difficulty through gear upgrades.. this is the dream
On top of that slam you with -22% temporal chain and that's content, that's fun, that's vision, that's meaningful.

I know to vendor these maps but yesterday I wanted to do 1 map after playing other games and forgot about it. Mid map alt+f4.
"We've just spent six years making expansions for path of exile, so imagine if we released path of exile 2 and it was just a bare campaign with none of that extra content. This would be a sad shell of an action RPG compared to the current state of path of exile."

So the way it works with one shots is if your health is lower than the number the monster hits on you then you run out of health

😅
I have the same situation

Playing a game where if you don't one-shot, you get one-shoted is not fun, it feels like the whole poe2 thing was copied from the Elden Ring DLC, where they also made artificial difficulty with damage and defense, which was fixed by collecting shards, only here they didn't add it under the slogan "it'll do"
Was there a good rationale for not implementing the "death recap" like they have in LE?

Although the death outcome is the same, knowing the last hit that killed you, and the damage type, helps you refine your build as opposed to... uh, i guess more defense?
How many hours should you spend in game to learn that evasion doesn't prevent you from taking damage. 1% of missing evasion and you take all the damage in bone. Mitigation from the other hand that armour does is more stable and absorbs at least 50% damage if you manage to have 20k armour. Playing as Merc character used to have only evade as defence and after 500 deaths one fellow opened my eyes and from then i made a char with 86% armour and 55% evation. If you add 2 passives ( Lucidity+Mental Perseverance) you reduce deaths to 5%. Another good defence is Companion that uses the gem that absorbs 10% of you damage.

Learn the game. Stop crying. And you see the difference. After all you can't prevent death 100%.

This chubby guys with the tree in their hand (that explode after death) need some fixing especially if there are many of them. With Rake (melee skill) you charge into one and get slammed from every possible direction while doing so. Crabs are annoying and that thing that creates purple circles but usually don't one shot.
I played a lot yesterday and 2 out of 3 relevant deaths between 89 and 91 were oneshots out of the screen from that mentioned tree guys. I died a few times more but these deaths were calculated (multidmg mods) right after leveling.

So I take a middle position on that. Game definately needs finetuning but there are also some things you can do yourself to prevent getting oneshotted even with cheap gear. Maybe some tips I can give although you might already know.

1. Almost res capped is something you have to overthink. If you have 70 res instead of 75 it equals 20÷ more damage gained and is way more likely to be a one shot.
2. Pay attention to map mods. Monster have more accuracy rating reduces the efficacy of your evasion rating. Damage as extra (especially chaos) or monster damage in general is something to watch out for. Minus max res is same as having not capped res. -14÷ equals around 60÷ more elemental damage taken. As we have around similiar defences I suggest not taking more than one dmg mod and avoid accuracy, extra chaos and minus max res mods at all costs. Obeying that you still might die in some situations but besides from the mentioned mob types you will not get oneshotted
3. Evasion as a standalone is by far the worst defense layer to play this patch. It has the same downside as armor as it works worst when you need it most and provides no mitigation at all when it fails. You desperately want to have something on top of that f.e. high block, high life and/or ES pool and/or Acrobatics. You might also consider the unique life flask if you can afford it later.
This game lost 50% players in two weeks. GGG they fked up.

Hey Sherlock not everyone plays every day. More people play early in a League. A 50% reduction in DAU is not a 50% "loss" of players.

Just, like, basic stuff.
