It will 100% work. Thats a global damage increase to Hits.. which is exactly what thorns is. If it doesn't work in practice, let GGG know in bug reports because it 100% would work.

What about using Titan? Hulking form will help the few thorns passive, and not sure if it work, but I think Stone Skin may help with Revenge the node

Not nearly enough of those passive to make it worth it.. maybe 80% extra damage... and you lose auto scavenge and turtle..
I was looking at your tree, why so much dex? you just need 34 for the first level of rapid assault

Also you can add movement skill like shield charge and disengage, shield charge + stomping ground is brutal btw, don't know how it would scale up latter but I'm doing the beginning of the campaign right now and it help a lot (I have the impression it trigger multiple time on the same enemy)

I'm testing out a hasted aura companion. Level scales it's health and regen. a lvl 16 gives mine 3.6k life and just under 700 regen. and it still dies to a still breeze tbh.

I am using shield charge too. Just by itself though. Stomping Ground is great for levelling but the damage is nothing in endgame.

Ngl, it's a fun concept but I really wish a better ability could be used alongside as Rapid Assault is great for Rare/Boss but terrible for clearing. Whirling Assault would be perfect. Multiple Hits, AoE and you can move during all of that BUT... You need a quaterstaff. So no Shield & a Int/Dex based Weapon so you lose so much. Maybe later when Axe/Sword will be released.
It's missing some unique, I'm sure we gonna have a big spiky tower shield soon or later (something that open like Window to Paradise but with an iron maiden would be pretty dope)

Also str/int ascendancy are probably more thematic for a thorn build with the religious connotation that go with them
