maybe its d2 nostalgia, but there is something I like about being locked into a SPECIFIC character. it's like you are forced to immerse yourself into their story.
In 2025 though, it would be nice to have a character builder. Customizing your own story is probably better than being forced to immerse yourself into a prebuild. This makes more sense when you look at how interchangeable the skills are between classes. A detail like this doesn't matter to me when what I'm looking for is a game that can stay feeling good for thousands of hours. Give me that end game, and I'll be a 2 foot one legged penguin tearing it up with ember fusillade. |

i also want a male sorcerer or wizard or necromancer etc magic wielding class , i am in fact playing monk but i want to be a mage thats the thing i play in all rpgs since i was a kid.
I really dont care about the secondary topics , just give us a cosmetic in shop ? all win ... i like to roleplay my class at least in my head even in arpgs, i really dont see how this hurts anyone else tbh. |

It's time to let players have more customization with the characters they want to play. Just imagine all the extra money to be made on custom MTX skins. Given a choice would you guys Pay to have the option for a gender switch for your own respective class choices WITH their own voice-over sets?
This fits perfectly with their principle of 'No advantages' in the MTX shop (e.g strictly cosmetics. Again..not to set as precedent they could be making this for free (high unlikely of so..) While the snow remains,

I reckon if it's a MTX option there will be limits to how much can be customized..or even permitted to customize.
Because there's only so much that can be seen from an isometric view (even when zoomed) Secondly, if they have male/female alts for each class, then everyone will be seeing them reflected properly regardless if it's paid as it's a global change. Because of the observations above i think the customization will be a 'switch on/off' like how weapon sets are implemented? The other more extreme is making it available at the start of char creation, where a permanent change is to be done. Which could open up a can of worms because they need to make char customization a game feature that is not available in the current culture of EA...if done wrong could alienate parts of the player population,too.
