Phrecia Atlas Idols
Just wanted to drop a post relating that I absolutely love the idols system. While the Atlas tree was a vast improvement over the previous systems, the Idols double down on a core concept (items matter), and provide a huge way to assemble the content a player wants to interact with.

Going to have to disagree here. The idols are an interesting change, but hopefully just a one-off. The atlas tree gives you FAR more ability to go after the content you want without having to 1) trade or 2) also have things that you DON'T want just because that content happens to be on the same idol as content you DO want.
Bottom line, idols are a interesting diversion, but the POE1 atlas tree is far superior to running maps the way you want. |

Idols are great and allow you to push mechanics where they normally wouldn't beable to go.
Getting 9 rerolls on ritual, 60 free syndicate intelligence every map Its a nice change of pace from the usual atlas system. You get to run the maps the way you want in both systems, idols just give you more. Kinda crazy how people are just so confused when things become itemized. Good event. Mash the clean

" Nothing confusing, it's just a matter of perspective. idols do give more, but require trading, and scale off wealth. Atlas tree progression is more linear, and free. While I love idols, I really hope we'll get back the regular atlas tree for next league. Having to invest in yet another way to get even more rewards won't feel fun if it's on a core basis, at least for me. |

" isnt that just power creep ? |

" It isn't just power creep. It is also new items to chase, new ways of specializing and a lot more strategies to explore. Sure, it's also power creep, but power creep in actual atlas mechanics lets you run content you wouldn't run before because they weren't good enough. Combine that with completely new ascendancies, and you have a lot of cool stuff to explore. If this event also mixed up the actual league mechanic and didn't just throw all of this into an already very old league (Settlers), it would be a 10/10 event. I'm actually 3% sad that I'm on vacation in the Canaries from a very grey Norwegian winter. Only 3%, though. But I got to play it for a week, and will sink myself into several builds when I get home. Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.

" No, borrowed power. Like every league in this game. Power creep would be if it stayed. Would be pointless just giving us ascendancies and no gameplay changes without some form of borrowed power. Mash the clean Last edited by Mashgesture#2912 on Mar 7, 2025, 12:59:10 PM

well borrowed power from settlers and borrowed power from idols and from ascendancies. we re beyond normal borrowed power.
are you sure people dont like idols cause of the crazy level of power |

" We really arent. We gave up something for one of these, that being the atlas tree for idols. So its just something we can do to push juicing. Not necessarily the power of our characters. You can make much more loot and argue that leads to more power I suppose though. Ascendancies for borrowed power? These are more in line with just adding new skill gems and disabling others. Not really borrowed power. Some of them are cracked, some of them are bad. And again, we gave up normal ascendancies for them. With many of these alternate versions being hilariously terrible versus their counterparts (glad versus gamb, behemoth versus berserker...) ect Just like the base game cracked and horrific ascendancies. Of course people enjoy idols for their power. Would be dumb to just 1:1 copy the tree and its limits and put them on idols. Mash the clean Last edited by Mashgesture#2912 on Mar 7, 2025, 3:37:14 PM
