Phrecia Atlas Idols
" Are we? Isn't that a bit... "Historyless"? We've been WAY more powerful in previous leagues. "Normal borrowed power" isn't a thing, as it varies A LOT from league to league. Are we really close to Affliction levels of mapping gains (well, except the Rogue Exile "bug")? Are we really close to Scourge levels of item power? Are we really close to Harvest/Ritual levels of accessible items? Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.

when i see stuff like the shrine build.
and the strats like exiles. not sure about harvest and essences since i barely saw them but seemed super juicy I am doing ultimatum and you can have 100% chance to duplicate rewards for instance instead of 25% that s a big buff from settlers wich is borrowed power Last edited by SerialF#4835 on Mar 7, 2025, 4:39:16 PM

" Idols, the new ascendancies and Settlers mechanics are all borrowed power. And while some builds are definitely overpowered as hell, I don't think any one of them is crazier than what we've seen before, be that the Delirium Aura Stacker or even the Legion Cycloners. And unless people are pulling 20-40 divines out of each map, it's hard to beat Affliction league. On TOP of that, this is an event, and events are supposed to be a little bit crazy. I think it's OK, as we've been starved for changes for a long time. Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.

In my opinion the idols are annoying, especially when 50-80% of the idols that drop aren't what you want. Maybe if idols were modifiable, and instead are bound like voidstones it'd be okay. I didn't enjoy trading for idols in the event. Selling them was a pain because you'd get 10+ requests while in maps.
The Atlas Passive Tree is better in my opinion, but I dislike how you need to invest 5-10 atlas passives just to block extra content. Wouldn't it be better if there was a simple checkbox for legacy content? |

i love idols. though i think we need the atlas. it be great if we got a piece of both in the future. like atlas for the base and idols to make it align better to what we want to run.

" At least for me, I do like that I can push a map hard, or not. I'm playing mostly SSF (i.e I give stuff to friends, I got an early 5 link armor from a friend, etc, nothing extraordinary), so I'm not exactly rushing into deep content yet. I've only had the time to get up to the start of yellow maps. But even still things -happen- in my maps. there are Delirium, there is essences. With the Atlas passives, these maps would be nearly empty. Further, I can mix and match whatever -I- want, rather than the constraint of where things are located in relation to each other. I.E it's expensive to do Beyond and Betrayal together, as they're on opposing sides, so you waste a lot of points cutting across some how, doing 10+ Maps of nothing to afford the points to go in. Note, I'm not suggesting PoE 1 drop the atlas tree it's built up, but a system like this developed a bit could be a cool way for PoE2 to handle its end game. Particularly for a game early in its life, it's also expandable, new content (even during its own league) could have modifiers added for that league (and retained if that content goes core). But self remove by the fact the content won't spawn if it doesn't go core, becoming nothing but relics of the past or pointless collector 'I was there' tokens. Without the need for them to constantly re-arrange the atlas passives each league. I'll note my map progress has been a lot worse than normal, it's been MUCH harder to progress maps in my experience, but it evens out as each map is MUCH more interesting and fun, so I don't feel like I'm just treading water. |

The idols are kind of sloppy at the start, they eventually get to a good spot once you have farmed up a ton. I think I prefer the atlas tree over this though, maybe if we had a smaller 3x3 grid for idols on top.
You start off with so many mechanics every map way faster then you could on the tree. But then you reach a point where you have no synergy and it's just every mechanic on every map. Then after some time you get to a point where you have the right idols to really push it. Maybe with some rebalancing I could see it but current setup... I'm not sure I would play this every league tbh |

I hated the idols to start with but it's fun once you've gone deep into 1 or 2 mechanics since you can boost them way further than was ever possible with the atlas. For a one off they are fine but they are annoying to price check to sell and annoying to spend time buying and you usually have a bunch of extra shit you'd rather block off - for a regular league I'd prefer the flexibility of the atlas.

" exactly this, yes you can go bonkers with the idols, but building the setup is a chore. And lets be frank, if they would balance the idols most of the fun would be lost instantly, the lionshare of fun with them is how op they are. settlers borrowed powers are actually only the runecrafts, and while two of them are simply OP as hell the rest is not that grand. There where a lot of worse leagues out there. As a compromise i could imagine idols as sort of jewels for the atlas tree that have there own modpool. we will see in 2026 or so when there are actual resources for poe1 again :( Current Build: Penance Brand
