Only 70k players for poe1 with new 'league'
With a peak of 91k players on Steam + GGG launcher, we should be seeing a 150k players peak, the problem is the amount of people which will left POE 1 on the first week, i believe that we should be seeing a 50k peak after the first week.

OR, and just hear me out here, POE1 players don't want to playtest new POE2 classes.
And maybe, just maybe, POE1 players feel betrayed already, and have already given up. Even if they released the full 3.26 I would expect the numbers to be low. But that doesn't mean that "they made the right decision". Because I guarantee if they released 3.26 like they should have back in January, that it would have hit 200k players easily. |

and I mean, 63,000 people watching POE1 on Twitch, most of the streamers playing that.
2.1k watching POE2. I think POE2 has attracted a different type of player, which is cool. I'm done buying anything until we get some clarity on the future of POE1 and POE2 and I know GGG plans to spend effort on a game I want to play.
Tell us if POE1 still has your top tier support or if POE2 will get a mode for more casual play. |

PoE1 will be big again with a new serious league. BUT I dont think that it will reach the same peak as Settlers of Kalguur ever again, since many will have migrated to PoE2, especially once it's free to play.
I think GGG did the right thing and keeps focusing on the game with more future promise. PoE1 had a good run, but it's getting to old from a technical perspective. Yes, they say they want to keep running PoE1, but I expect seasons will only come every 6 month in the future (and not every 3 month like in the past) once PoE2 has been released. I agree that they shouldn't have promised so much about PoE1 going on while PoE2 is still in development. A game dev like GGG should have expected that PoE2 will eat alot of ressources and that it will effect PoE1 development. But at least they apologized. That's something many devs dont do anymore nowadays. |

" Compared to poe2 launch it's not much. Also the people saying 'only' 80k people are playing poe2 now so you should remove whatever I hate about the game are making posts like this trying to blackmail the devs into making changes most people don't want to see like death xp loss etc. I wouldn't be saying only if there wasn't people talking trash about current poe2 player count and trying to say poe1 is the far superior game. POE2 has the better foundation. It will be built upon to surpass the original in the future | |
if GGG ads the new POE2 modern movement WASD or Mouse with smooth gliding over the surface, people will go back to POE1.
No need for Terrain high/low either, just costs a lot CPU POE1 is miles better but the movement. |

" Nothing in this league is worth playing once you hit 80, there's absolutely literally zero point. We want real leagues, not events. Events are a the lazy mans solution :/ We are 3 leagues behind in POE 1, and about to be a league behind in POE 2. Start fucking working GGG.... start fucking working.... I don't care about what GGG is doing, I care that its ON TIME. I am survived entirely by having new shit to do. It's been about a year since i've had new shit to do. Give us some goddamn new shit to do already... Last edited by Rakie1337#5746 on Feb 21, 2025, 4:35:42 AM

" You can also argue the opposite: the 1-2 months of "downtime" in which almost no one is playing the league is time for people to rest and to lose track of how much they've spent on GGG. You push MTX every 2 months with people jumping from one game to the other and they'll start to realize they're maybe spending too much. I'm not talking about amounts (people could easily spend the same, divided between the two games), I'm talking about frequency and human memory/perception. Not to mention, running 2 games increases costs. My guess is that they'll kill PoE 1 not too far into PoE 2. Maybe after 3-5 leagues |
