Behemoth
report back once you actually make it work with a skill that does not require hitting ground to activate
and by 'work' i mean do something more substantial than whiff an animation and hit nothing/stuff that is already dead targeting of that phantom is fucked and unless you can force it to do something EVERY TIME (with these 3 skills) it is just a gimmick with funky animation that forces you to move. and even these 3 skills can hit something literally at the edge of the screen for no particular reason and yes, moving in POE is a given but this ring/node FORCES you to move (if you want to reap the benefit) even when you have a clean attack window it just is broken mechanically and is unreliable. for 1/4th of an ascendancy it is just a very very strange choice of something to be excited for. there are plenty of cool stuff there - but this aint one ive made it to maps with that ring, using busted LS setup - it is just mechanically broken, i would go as far as bugged. and because it is melee, GGG never spent a second looking into it |

mash i think you misunderstood sid. If you have to move to get the effect it is in fact bricked for bossing specifically. If you have to move to make it work, without the less attack speed multiplier it is still essentially a negative attack speed multiplier since you have to consider the time to move in your attack time.
Since you get targeting from 40% away it may be ok for clearing still though. if it gets all of the targeting range/additional target stats for you. He is also talking about more than 1 thing in his post. as you misunderstood from me as well. After he changes paragraphs about warriors legacy and that node he is talking about behemoth. I do think the fourth vow node is valuable with xibaqua without being able to get suppression but i dont think there could be any upside worth having the no spells outside of 100% immortality and 100m dps and 400% movement speed. |

you are all missing that rampage is ON HIT now, instead of ON KILL. Pretty much guaranteed 100% uptime even against bosses.
Not that it really means a lot in the grand scheme of things: rampage is a mid buff. Starting anew....with PoE 2 Last edited by cowmoo275#3095 on Feb 14, 2025, 5:27:09 PM

" Didnt misunderstand them at all. They stated, quite clearly, and wrong. 1) " 2) Legit Sid believed that the strike node I put was part of Behemoth. Thats just sid not paying attention/not knowing what the ascendancies actually do. Much like their first false statement. Rather than investigating or testing anything they just throw up whatever on the forums. 3) They are whining about attack speed on the ring several times in the post, and its not part of the node at all. To you though: Bad for bossing what? What are you talking about? Do you stand still in boss mechanics and thats why you think this? UUE you just take shotgun balls to the face from Shaper? Stand in the beam? Ice to the face? Take attacks you dont need to? Im very confused how this is bad for bossing. Especially since you will be getting a second hit for your movement. You make it sound like I am moving 30m away. Im literally side stepping in that gif, its a single click like hillock. On the subject of moving 30m away. What if I have to? Now I have at least a single hit with a strike skill from range "saved" when I have to move out that I can use. Imagine having this for Hillock at the start of the game. Thats really all you need to know if its bad or good for bossing. For clear: The thing works almost 1:1 as the strike additional targets its just it strikes where you previously stood. Something that melee splash support will always benefit from. You walk from somewhere something will fill that spot you wont be striking air. Unless you are doing like... extremely low tier, no density things... or have mirror tier gear to the point that you strike and one shot the screen. Which you cant really do with, at least my example, heavy strike. AND This also gives you a second bleed proc/bleed % roll chance as well. And impale... Honestly 0 idea what you mean bad for bossing. " I didn't miss that at all. It doesn't matter what it does if you cant use spell skills. also you need 1000 stacks. So every time shaper does bullet hell, every time sirus moves away from you (and you cant blink through his beams), every time maven goes away, every time exarch/eater phase. worm flask wont be enough i for uptime i dont think even if you wanted to do that. It takes 1000 rampage stacks to get 100% inc damage. how often do you even hit shaper 1000 times before he phases. mapping there could be an argument but then you wouldn't be talking about on hit instead of on kill. mash, you are getting too hung up on specific things. Sid is referring to the fact that unless the skill has projectiles or aoe effects its not even guaranteed to target the monster (unless i suppose you could prove otherwise that it would. While bossing you may move a couple times. lets take shaper for example. He does balls you frostblink, then you hit him until he either beams/slams/adds/bullet hell. assuming you arent phasing him within 1-2 mechanics in about roughly 30-40 hits (im making this number up i never added up how many hits for this) and 2-3 or them would be getting the additional strike (assuming this will target monsters properly and dont require your base range. which will be different than your strike additional since you get 50% further away. and if theyre facing the wrong direction (maybe yes, maybe no) It seems as if the problem is the jank in it. It may work in certain scenarios but without real testing its not clear at the moment how well it works because the ring is so shit there isnt really any real testing with it. Not that there are any other real damage nodes in the ascendancy to speak of. I just feel like the next best node would be the double armour/action speed node. But i play hc so i have a different perspective on things. |

" Agreed disabling spells just... kills the idea of playing it. Again, no auras, no fast movement, no curse, no defend skills... Ziz put out a video and said "maybe it should just be your spells do no damage" Which would be a good compromise I guess? " Lets let sid speak for themself rather than you. The guy says heavy strike cant work with the node, and then goes off on " Which it does. Videos right there. And combines topics in a horrible way... Yea... let them speak for themselves, if that was the case though, opportunity of "thats not what I meant" already passed with their first response doubling down. " Im not wasting frost blink on something I can just sidestep... I will frostblink on some rouge shaper slam or having to reposition for the bullet hell phase, or the exploding ring phase/slam combo in final phase. But yea there is currently no way to test it you are correct. And HC is different at approaching things for sure. Think with impale though the node could be pretty giga. Just have to wait. And for sure there is a lack of damage though I mean... I did play chieftan, didnt really get anything but a free additional strikes with Tukohama. Just defensive stuff from there. Forbidden flesh/flame for Warbringer. Think damage will be fine its just comming up with the defensive loss on resists/max if I try a similar route to my settlers heavy striker. Mash the clean

technician at auto shop tells you your car's traction control is broken and will fail you during next rainfall
you: "nah, its fine - see, there is the green light, duh" this is the same story, luckily with far lesser consequences. that node activates with any strike skill but it 'works' aka - does something more than fancy animation RELIABLY with just 3. and only 1 of these 3 is semi-worth considering (lightning strike with return projectiles) because the targeting is fucking broken and doesnt work as you imagine it and even with perfect targeting and 100% hit rate there is the math that makes this node less powerful with more attack speed you have. it might be better with WSAD movement and micro-stutters but with mouse control and latency there is a clear mechanical limit to it. it is very low. still - it is all moot, because bugged targeting prevents it from working with most of the skills. esp for you: working means something more than fancy animation, it means actually hitting the mobs RELIABLY and PREDICTABLY this mechanic - as is, without fixes - does not work with most of strike skills, period (and lightning strike honestly doesnt need it, also there are ascendancies that augment it far more than this). i actually did a serious run with this (horrible) ring in a vein hope it is a hidden gem. but it turned out to be an obvious turd - not because attack speed penalty, that is whatever. but because this mechanic is simply broken due to how strike targeting works (enemies will simply sidestep away from the mirage, strike will wiff, no damage done - UNLESS you use the ground hitting skills to proc anyway) nobody will play this node despite praising it now. happens every patch with 'too cool to function' additions that litter the POE waiting for their time to shine |

there is one strike that moves without doing anything, it s flicker strike.
not tested yet how many additional strike from ring you get on an immobile target (probably not 100% more) but in maps should work well Last edited by SerialF#4835 on Feb 15, 2025, 5:52:16 AM

it s true that it s funny that we have to have such a big downside.
blind prophet gets 50% chance return on proj so almost 100% more dmg on things that have more than 1 projs without any penalty. behemoth is probably the brother of poe 2 warrior |

" Behemoth was almost certainly intended to be a Warrior ascendancy that didn't make the cut. A lot of these New 19 look that way, to be honest... Blind Prophet has a lot more to do with the Monk and staff skills than the Shadow, the Aristocrat screams Mercenary to me, and so on. |
