--- I hope this gets extended. It feels like more than enough content to be a "league" compared to some of the earlier PoE leagues. Like yeah, it doesn't have the traditional "we put a new mechanic into every map" element associated with leagues, but the idols kinda fill that role, and the alternate ascendancies are plenty exciting on their own. I kinda wonder if they've set their expectations for a "league" higher than necessary. Not every league has to be as "big" as recent leagues. Honestly I'm way more hyped for this event than I was for anything in Necropolis! I hope the toxic (but alluring) "perpetual growth" mindset from the rest of the tech sector isn't starting to infect GGG too - as in, a smaller event like this can't be a "league", because each league needs to show growth over previous leagues, so the next league needs to be something even bigger than Settlers so it draws even more players than Settlers did or else it's a failure. |
