while i do think this is a good thing, i do wanna word my concern here as i have in quite a few streams since the announcement of this "going core" in private league eventually.

none of the communities seem too quite get a grip on what i said, so i thought it best too post it here as well, since i do find the criticism warranted.

I foresee a problem with this going live in private leagues, since this will be the first "real" p2w aspect of poe that is undeniable.

My argument hinges on the fact that "buying and extending" a private league takes real life money.
So if you wanna play a busted class from this list, you have too either pay money or hope you can join one with room that is paid for.
I find that problematic in terms of what PoE monetization is, and i for one do not think it is fitting and would only sully your good name.

My suggestion would be one of the following:
Fix them up and release them for all for additional choice.
Make private leagues free.
Delete this option.

It depends a lot on what the definition of "winning" is in a game like this. There is no hard defined win state by the game for a player to achieve. So at best it's a proxy for 'advantage over other players' and that is the context in which I will discuss it (unless you have another way to define 'P2W' in the context of this game)

I would say premium stash tabs were the first "real" p2w. I don't think there's a compelling argument that can demonstrate non-premium tab owners selling items at a volume that outperforms (or keeps up with) premium tabs. Any route for trade that is available to a non-premium tab owner is also available to anyone who bought premium tabs. They will always have that extra option in addition to what anyone else has at their disposal. Just inventory storage itself is an axis of advantage, really (Try playing Necropolis League with vanilla storage space just as one example).

Addressing Private Leagues. They are private. They do not share any other market. It is an isolated 'self found' group. Anyone playing in a private league is subject to the same 'version of the game' as anyone else in that league; Thus, the opportunity available to each player is equal within that league.

Migrating a character from one of these leagues will not bring the ascendancies with them.

The best steelman of your concern is that players would have access to a means of farming via these ascendancy alternatives that would allow them to out-farm currency opportunities presented in the core game--load all that currency onto a character and then migrate it to the core game.

I don't know if that is even possible. From farming strats we've seen in recent leagues, a lot of the profits from farming come from "juicing" to the point where people are investing 20+ divines into each map just to double their investment. You're not going to achieve that in a private league because it relies on bulk trading of scarabs. So then the profit couldn't come from mapping. It can't come from bossing because core has builds that instant-delete uber bosses. If you argued that delve or sanctum can be done better with these acendencies, again I would ask where is the input coming from? Private leagues don't have an endless market of tomes or sulphite scarabs. So where is the actual advantage?
im exited
