You can, the branch nodes are "pick one" like how current scion works. First ascendancy gives 2 points in the path. 2nd gets you the first choice and one path. 3rd gets you the next path and a choice top or bottom. 4th wraps around to the back. You can't get both the spell(top) and attack(bottom) wheels but you can reach the back with either.
