I want to talk about Defenses compared to how much damage certain enemy minions do.
Thanks for sharing your extreme build.
It's really hard to reset our "optimized" theory sometimes. Especially in the state like EA, it's really precious moments. There are many situations that we will hardly experience in a long run. Stop Bombing

On Another note. If you take a look at my mace, I have a tier 6 fire roll but with the conversion of the physical damage into fire damage though molten blast it becomes like a tier 8 fire roll. I have a tier 10 cold damage roll and a tier 9 lightning damage roll. Is it perfect? No, it could be corrupted for a second socket with another 30% increased elemental damage soul core and can have all T10 perfect rolls. But it is posing a question that because I have all my increases and am running some penetration. I have exposure and ailments like shock. So would it be safe to say that Molten strike would NEED a perfect mace to be able to do damage for solid T15 magic weystone clear? I actually feel like there has been a cap put on my dps output because I have changed some things around in my build since I posted the POB yesterday.

I would try get "Forces of nature" in the passive tree if you have not already, since you do multiple types of elemental damage and that node gives penetration to all types.
It might also be worth looking into a mace with only 2 flat elemental rolls, then 1 roll of %increased elemental damage + attack speed%. Then you could use a soul core that gives penetration. Make sure one roll is flat cold so that you can freeze/chill enemies. Some ways you have to scale damage: Getting penetration Additional projectiles Any % increases in passive trees if you can take points away from other stuff Better weapon Since you are using HOWA gloves: Getting gear that has +intelligence and +dexterity on it (int before dexterity if you can). Jewels with damage mods / penetration. Last edited by Tumulten#3988 on Feb 6, 2025, 3:06:14 PM

I was set up already with forces of nature and running all 3 heralds but even then, it wasn't doing what I expected. Which is when I starting dropping all defense for dps and surprisingly it wasn't much different. So when I realized that the dps for my build wasn't changing much I went into full defense mode while still keeping a majority of my dps output. This is how I came to believe that there must be a dps cap on my character. Mechanically things were not making sense so I just dealt with it, tried to adapt and overcome but not even that was working. The only other things that I can do for dps is, like you said, try a different mace that probably has lower rolls with the %elemental damage. Spec out of defenses and increase the magnitude of ailments and get more pen. That is about it.
Usually I would brush off a theory of my character being tampered with but there was to much evidence through my experience building this character that did nothing but reinforce my statement about a dps cap or my dps being regulated. Last edited by Amotokai#2266 on Feb 6, 2025, 3:37:03 PM

" When you say "Extreme" build, are you talking about an individual or just saying extreme in general? |
![]() |
" For example, we cannot exchange passive skill points into another status like item mods or pick ascendancy skill from other classes. So we have to use skill points strictly on the passive skill tree the game could offer. You spent points into defense as reasonably possible as a Deadeye and made it work using shield and one-handed mace and still open to improve your build thus struggling very hard. That is the definition of "build theory crafting" or "build progression" and an extreme state of the common "deadeye" class (everyone can choose it) in my book. " This is the "result", not necessarily be the theory. This is very important part of (self) build progression imo because there are different path on each build progression. We can use our own experience like steel, hammer and anvil depending on the situation if we do it on the way. As you mentioned, I agree that %elemental damage with decent added elemental damage will be a massive upgrade even if you change your passive tree more offensive. For example, you can easily drop some of your stun/ailment resists and put into 40~50% attack damage passive nodes in total which is almost double %damage increases, while %elemental damage on weapon can be easily be +90~120%. As far as I observed various build theory, this is just a "base damage" part of current game system and it's very important to know how it can be scaled and how it can be capped so that we can determine the final damage scaling when using unexplained weird mechanics. I understand but it's not really a theory. It uses the most basic and generic scaling the game has to offer. The scaling is simply getting the highest amount of Flat numbers on the weapon rings and gloves while increasing the numbers with %increases and %more. It is also smart to understand the %increase amount and how much %increase to use before the DPS starts to diminish. When the %increase number is met than there different ways to find other scaling. Example, Penetration, increased magnitude and increased effect. It's really generic scaling. I could call it a theory if I was doing something out of the ordinary.

I would also recommend getting "Lightning rod" passive in skill tree.
Another way to get more damage is +to level of melee skills/+to level of molten blast. |

I see. So what you need is as much samples as possible (every combination of skills) since there is no modal logic is involved behind the explosion of damage scaling. That is not a theory (on your book) but simple formula (it's exponential).

I did say in a previous post that I switched some things around on the build so here are some of the changes that I made. When I get back into POB I will also post that but I am still not done tinkering with it either. So I might do a POB but here is a quick video.
