An auction house is so much needed, why are we still using a 1999 Diablo 2 style trade system in 2025? Nothing more annoying than having to constantly leave and interrupt your map or campaign for every single trade, let alone having to deal with afk traders and people leaving during trade. Trading in poe2 is an awful and frustrating experience.
Also an auction house would solve the issue of scammers ripping off people by switching items during trade. Even an indie game like Last Epoch has an auction house why can't path of exile 2 have one. got whisper from someone.
leaving the map to sell item. trade request I go to stash grab the item send trade requst again trade window opens i put the item he thinks thinks.. and says ''sorry i changed my mind'' I put the item back on stash, re price if its not fixed tab. I go back to map. Lost at least 2 minutes. -------- leaving my computer/game open when iam home. incase someone requests a trade even iam busy with something else. constantly check to not go afk ----------------- i whisper to buy item, no answer. next, no answer too. ------------- i whisper to buy an item, he says price is 3X not X --------------- and you know, there are ten trillion billion difrent bullsht all the time about that trade system... Not needed. How can you be scammed with current system ? It's impossible. Just double check trade before accepting. Mostly your fault if you are scammed, you rushed or wasn't paying attention.
Auction house would be a nightmare, with bots sniping and market manipulation made easier. At least now if you mispriced, you see the spam and know it. On my years playing PoE, I met a lot of nice people through trading. So yeah, trading the old way has its own issues, but it also comes with bonuses. Every games that went the automatic way without social interactions (matchmaking, auction house, solo focused, ...) lost its initial taste. They already made the Currency Exchange, it was the most needed as currency was the real nightmare to trade. I stand with GGG on this one.
