Mighty Silverfist needs tweaking
Let me preface this by saying a few things. I have beaten silverfist a few times. I only play hardcore not because I want to be pretentious but because having stakes to the game is the way I find it to be most enjoyable.
Silverfist has become quite the thorn in my side when it comes to act 3 and so i have started to just skip him entirely. He is not a particularly challenging fight as he really only has one mechanic. That one mechanic being an overhead slam that will 1 shot even the thickest of armor users. This not great design and needs to be tweaked if even slightly. I lost a 33 ranger, 35 monk and most recently a 35 warrior. The reason I am making this thread is because that warrior had 73% armor and over 950 hp and still got flattened by silverfist in 1 slam which only happen to hit me because I clipped a tree while rolling. I was specifically playing the warrior as a very tanky build and until that point wasn't threatened by any damage. To be clear, I think the attack is telegraphed well and a lot of damage is warranted due to its easy dodge timing and long build up. The only 2 changes I would make are lowering the damage slightly so that full armor builds can take at least 1 slam and also make his agro radius a little smaller as when I had my ranger die he ran from off screen and slammed killing my ranger instantly. Before the community jumps to telling me to git good please understand that I have beaten him more times than he has killed me and I don't believe this needs to be the top of their priorities at the moment. It is just very disheartening to lose a beloved HC character to a physical damage one shot when you have specifically built to counter that damage type. He needs his own little arena.
I play sc but still have issues. Recently had to go back to the area to do a forgotten quest (graves quest) and he killed my level 45 sorc. Twice. You are correct that his attack is hard to evade, he follows you relentlessly, and it does too much damage. |

I think it's great design. He's got the slam and the wind up slam. If you get hit by either, you die. It's fair because they are easily avoidable. Stay close to him and move perpendicular when he slams. It's easy enough for my 7 year old to do, i think with practice, you can do it too. If not, you can come back at a higher level. It's not required to progress the main story line and you can come back once you can survive it's hit.

Honestly, if they want good 1-3m boss fights they need to remove one-shots from both sides. Silverfist included.
I agree that he should have his own little arena, though. |

" Not sure if this is rage bait or if you just didn't read the post but i will reply regardless. I agree that the attack has plenty of tells and is not hard to dodge. I have beaten him many times. The issue is that even if you build a character specifically to counter that damage type with a substantial amount of armor and health it still kills you. If damage resistances are to be in the game then they should be functional, otherwise they can just give everyone one health and tell them to git gud. I like the challenge of the game, in fact i love it, and I wouldn't ask for it to be any easier just for things to be tuned properly. This is a forum for EA feedback and this is my feedback. I'm not complaining or moaning, it's just feedback. |

" He's literally more dangerous than the final act3 boss, or any of the act bosses. More dangerous than Napuatzi. Infinitely more dangerous than the sun priest. You make a slightest mistake and you're dead. It's BS and you know it. |

I completely agree. Yes, he can be easy but he can also be unfair. He roll pushes you and if you get stuck on something he 1 shots you with his slam. He has killed more of my hc chars than anything in the game. He also acts odd when you have minions where he seems to be targeting them and then 360 spins to slam you instead. I’ve also had him kill me through terrain such as a wall. Blackhawk is similar, but at least he is in an arena so there isn’t as much rng to go with his one shot. This is actually how I died on my last play through and I haven’t played since and don’t plan to until the next major release.

Why evolve when I have ascended?

" Well, the final act 3 boss is one of the easiest ones, and so is the priest, so not exactly hard to be more dangerous than either. Personally, I don't think he's particularly unfair himself. He is overall way better/easier than Viper or Rathbreaker. That said, you rarely fight just him. He's in an area with lots of mobs nearby and has a pretty big aggro range. As a result, between when he aggros on you, how you need to avoid his attacks, and so on, you rarely fight just him. You wind up with antlions rolling around, various things spitting chaos damage at you from range, and/or an elite or two. |
