XP loss on death is atrocious game design and should have no place in PoE 2

"
This is a perspective from someone who is neither employed nor engaged in any hobbies or being fanatic. Come on! The vast majority—99%—of people want to unwind after work and take their dogs for a walk, not feel frustrated by a game!

I have a full time job, 2 very needy dogs, and the death penalty is one of the reasons I love PoE.

The risk of loss adds a sense of tension, incentivizes & rewards me for playing carefully and focusing on defensive stats, and gives me a sense of accomplishment when I've gone days or weeks without a death. It also creates risk-reward scenarios around timing for new pinnacle boss attempts (i.e., try now because I'm excited, or wait until I level to protect me from the loss).

For me the game after L90 would get super boring and repetitive without the risk of XP loss.
Truth is... no one will stop plaing if death penalty would be removed or lowered. But a looooot of people would be happy

this
Whatever their design intention was for xp loss on death is a failure. All it does to me is make me feel forced into not doing pinical bosses or any difficult content until i level up. Then when i have no xp to loose i feel like ok now i can try and fight arbiter or push difficult content.

So it incentivizes you to think about potential rewards and balance those against possible risks and make informed decisions about the content you're doing based on that assessment? That is not a failure of the design. That is the design.

To be clear, you're not being forced to do anything. If you want to risk the loss you absolutely can; you're choosing not to. For me, after ~94 or so, I usually just go for it because I'm not too worried about getting much higher than that most seasons anyway and the excitement of a new boss attempt is >> than the risk of the XP loss. The fact that we both have the freedom to weigh these factors and can make different decisions is precisely how XP loss helps make the game more interesting.

reaching 100 doesnt need to be a standard that all players achieve. Whats next, a paragon board?

Yes, please do add a paragon board. Much better than this ass-hat exp loss "design" anyway.
all the xp penalty does for me is keep me from doing anything high risk because I value my time and dont like a game taking something away when it is stingy towards my time in every category. So Ill just accept the slow progression minus punishment.

That`s ok. If you like it, that`s great!
I do not like XP penalty, especially after lvl 90. I am veteran ARPG and for me this is bad....probably because is frustrated and it has no sense for me.
btw
I hate also HC mode...but this is my personal opinion.
Ist ok if youbfeel angry wgen you dy. But the XP od 2 playing evenings for one death? Really? To go lv85 will be fine, but after that, youbare at 80%lv and think. Arbiter t4, or weit two days Till im 86, just because of penalty, it minimales my options in playing the Game.

Reduce penalty after kV 90 will br enough.
