it's simple jonathan is in charge jonathan, by his own admission, fucking hates poe1 jonathan will always, without fail, make decisions to protect and prioritize poe2 over poe1 and will gladly sacrifice poe1 for poe2 it's really that easy. dude has talked about how he hates poe1, and they till apparently put him in charge of everything including pulling the whole poe1 team off the game, going back on GGG's commitments not to let PoE2 fuck PoE1 jonathan. doesn't. fucking. care.
