So Since PoE1 is Officially Dead

"
Very unpopular opinion coming in, if PoE1 truly dies it will be because everyone got in a tantrum and left it for other things, it won't be because GGG pulled the plug on it first.

I see it the other way around. Right now, GGG has stepped onto a path that has a high chance of killing PoE1. Most players are not protesting or participating in an outrage—they are simply leaving. If GGG does not provide content for PoE1, it will wither away and die.

The ONLY way to help as a player is to "throw a tantrum"—to create noise and force GGG to rethink its priorities. The players voicing their concerns are the ones trying to turn the ship that is heading in the wrong direction. I honestly believe that ditching PoE1 for the early access of PoE2 is going to hurt both games and the company as a whole. If you disagree, that’s fine (even though you’re wrong)

Played the demo for this and it was surprisingly good, ignore any of the DEI posting on the forums, in the 4 hours I played there were like 2 lines of harmless dialog.
I always like going through these threads to see how many of the people posting have never had more than 5-10 challenges in any league.

I don’t know how it is relevant how many challenges one completes. I personally hate challenges and never do them. The ones I have completed were accidental while playing. I love creating builds from scratch, and I usually experiment with a new build every league in SSF. Does that make me a bad player? Or does that make my opinion not matter?
I definitely spent time getting them some leagues, but only when it was an explicit goal. I've never done the full 40 yet.
I’ve heard good things about V rising, gotta try it sometime I suppose ;)

Simple amusements as they say.

Personally when I semi-occasionally see someone making too big of a deal about challenges I immediately expect their argument failed and they need a simple way to copium past that.

Then I can't help but wonder; if they put that much significance in following directions 40 times. how many of their challenges were purchased in global or trade 820?
Pandering to players who don't want consequences for their mistakes is a perfect description of what went fundamentally wrong with D3 and 4.
If they wanted mindless mobile game time waster gameplay they sure did make some perplexing choices and marketing statements for 6 fucking years.

I think the only time I cared was Legion league for the purple crystal aura or effect thingy there was like one other 38 MTX that looked good I cared about but I can't for the life of me remember which one it was..

I feel like GGG could 100% make league MTX a lot cooler and I would engage with challenges a lot more often.
