Well, this is what's said every PoE1 league as well. Give it a six month to a year period, then we can see what the numbers really look like.

And unless they do some borderline miraculous improvements, I don't think GGG is going to like those numbers.

D4 is pretty good now. I am having a lot of fun. As an older gamer, I appreciate you do not have to grind a month (as a filhty causal) to be able to beat the end boss on one char, which end up majority of players quit before that.

In a tpyical league, you play a starter char. If you enjoy the league enough not to get bore and quit, you roll the actually cool build you want to play. Either you got bored again, or fun enough to go for final boss. In my 1500 hours (I know my time isn't as crazy as some, but I don't play one game) I managed to go all the way to the final boss only 2 times. My first complete league Harbringer (Shaper) and last league Trible (Marvin).

I still had fun mostly, otherwise I would not have clocked 1500 hours and over 500€ spent.

In D4 typically, as a filith causal, I can complete a build in 2-3 weeks (3 days is a meme, not reality), & if I enjoy, I can easily change another build (it easy with loadout), or another class(es), which the game make easy with shared progression. In the end, my time spend per season /league is very similar between the 2 games.

But one last thing, there is a new ARPG I am pretty hype about, Dragonkin which come to EA on steam in March (24€). I already wishlisted it.

I find the comments funny, do people really believe that the bulk of the community is in POE1? The lowest peak of players was 5k people, and now with the attempt to boycott POE2 it is at 12k, POE2 has achieved what POE has been trying to achieve for years, that new people are interested in the game, it is normal that POE2 is the priority now

Exactly, but they don't care about numbers or reality, they want to keep living on their 9-12K players bubble for another 10 years.

"Poe2 is dead on arrival" with 10x times more players than poe1
"they will al leave and come back just for leagues" the same as poe1 and diablo 3-4 games, "they make money from poe1 and zero money from poe2", mtx are shared, and currently they are making more from poe2 due EA cost, and people buying mtx in there.

Honestly, besides the argument that GGG lied, which is a valid and fair point, everything else is just sentimental kids crying cause they got nothing else to do.

It has already been pointed out in multiple threads that the PoE2 steam numbers include China while the PoE1 numbers do not.
