A Message to Path of Exile 1 Players

What the actual fuck is this. fucking poe 2.
Will no longer be purchasing any supporter packs going forward. PoE2 is a beta, of course it's going to be broken, but abandoning a fully polished game in favor of the dumpster fire of concepts that is PoE2 right now shows such a lack of foresight and company direction I no longer believe I can continue to support.

Could have been solved with more realistic expectations of both, but this is beyond disappointing.
Seeing my favorite game that I've spent almost 2 thousand dollars on and brought every single friend I could convince onto this game over the last decade..

I'm just devastated. The leagues have been low effort for quite a long time but still good enough for me to still enjoy. But now we're getting put on the side after supporting the company for a decade so they can continue to develop a game that simply ignores all the best things they learned from PoE1.

I saw this happen with CS 1.6 -> CS:S
I saw this happen with WoW
I saw this happen with D2 -> D3

I guess its just inevitable and I shouldn't be surprised. Everything good must come to an end one day. Enshittification of the all things is inevitable.
Good thing I'm not new to gaming companies and even then you still are the most transparent and honest one.
I'll just play whatever game has the more content. In the end they're both path of exile.
I'd suggest you focus on what your plan is right now rather than stressing out over what all these entitled poe1 players demand. Doesn't matter how much they cry it won't change what you have already planned so focus on it and give us a great 3.26 league.

Let's call it what really happened, they F@%ked up in a major way with planning for the POE2 release, timing and not getting the dev work completed. Was Tencent pushing them to get out a pay for game ??

Knew things went downhill with the 3.25 Settlers league when they totally screwed up the Mac version - could not patch - and some of us have NEVER played it. THey bullshitted that there would be a POE2 Mac version and that is not going to happened since they are having so many issues with the PC version !!

I am playing POE Settlers now for 2 weeks as my son gave me his old PC gaming laptop. Not to hurt feelings but playing POE on PC doesn't look any better,doesn't play any better than when I ran it on my Mac....

And I'm NOT PAYING TO PLAY POE 2 !!!! Once I get tired of Settlers league, there are plenty of other games to play !
The recent delay of Path of Exile 1 is disheartening and feels like a complete disregard for the loyal player base that has supported the game for over a decade. The worst part isn’t just the delay itself. It’s that (GGG) waited until the last moment to admit that essentially no development had been done on the next league. This lack of transparency is frustrating because the community had been expecting new content, as is customary with league cycles. Players have been speculating about the next expansion, looking forward to teasers and updates, only to be met with a vague and dismissive acknowledgment that PoE1 had been put on hold. The timing and manner of this announcement feel disingenuous, as GGG surely knew well in advance that they had no plans for a new league, yet chose to withhold this information until the community was counting down days until the announcement.

The decision to funnel all available resources into Path of Exile 2 at the expense of the original game is a glaring example of mismanagement and short-sightedness. It is undeniable that PoE1 is the very foundation upon which GGG was able to build its sequel, and yet, rather than continuing to nurture the game that has sustained them for years, they have seemingly abandoned it in favor of an early-access product. The entire player base that has been dedicated to PoE1 the people who spent thousands of hours grinding, supporting the game's economy, purchasing supporter packs, and evangelizing the game to newcomers—has been left behind. This is not just disappointing; it’s outright disrespectful to the people who made PoE2 even possible. An early-access title, by its very nature, is expected to have issues and require continuous development. Prioritizing it to such an extreme degree that PoE1 gets completely sidelined is a baffling decision, considering that the sequel is at least a year away from a full release.

If GGG had been upfront about this plan months ago, the community may have been able to brace for impact. Instead, they chose silence. To go months without a word, letting players believe that a new league was still on the horizon, only to suddenly announce that nothing has been done, is not just bad communication; it’s a complete slap in the face. The lack of foresight and player consideration in this decision shows an alarming level of detachment from the community. If GGG was truly struggling with development priorities, they should have addressed this far earlier rather than leading players on with the expectation that business would continue as usual. This delay isn't just about missing a league—it’s about the trust between a developer and its player base being eroded by poor handling and lack of respect.

Furthermore, GGG’s approach to communication has taken a drastic nosedive. What was once a studio known for engaging with its community and maintaining a clear dialogue has devolved into radio silence, sporadic and vague updates, and an overall sense of detachment. This regression in communication is downright pathetic, especially when compared to the transparency they once prided themselves on. While players understand that game development is complex and unpredictable, what they cannot accept is being strung along with no information, only to be hit with a last-minute disappointment. If this is the new standard for how GGG handles its relationship with the Path of Exile community, then the future of both PoE1 and PoE2 may be in jeopardy—not because of the games themselves, but because of the way the company treats the people who play them.

I urge you, GGG, to be better.
$4000+ supporting PoE1
$0 on PoE2 & will continue to be $0 moving forward
This is absolutely disrespectful to the fans who made your Ruthless mode 2.0 possible... And to wait this long to say something so negative. Fucking gross
Just merge Settlers into Standard League and we can all play standard league. At least the economy will be active
Should not of supported POE 2 in hopes both games were going to be supported. I was foolish……
