A Message to Path of Exile 1 Players

Honestly, just go all in on poe2 at this point. Poe1 has to come to an end eventually, as all live service games do, so makes more sense just to focus on making poe2 a good experience for new and old players alike.

I get people have dedicated years and a lot of money to poe1, but games don't last forever, we all know this. Try and make as many cosmetics and such compatible with poe2 so at least that side of purchases aren't lost. It's not going to make those upset much happier, but it's something.

Poe2 really needs to be the sole focus if it's to be a true successor to poe1. The dev team can't afford to be too split on projects.

PoE2 won't affect PoE1 releases.. right. So that was a lie.

I didn't really expect things to go as planned, and this is within the margin of error.

That said, if a minor expansion for PoE1 can be made with a skeleton crew it still might be worth doing. You could just give people a poll: "Do you want PoE2 v1.0 a month early with no PoE1 updates, or to get a new PoE1 league in the meantime?" Assigning some people to work on a new league shouldn't slow things down to the point where 1.0 is 6 months late or something ridiculous.

What about people who are fans of both games?

This is a crazy way to post about this. They lied to us multiple times about poe 1 and 2. They repeatedly said both games would co-exist. Poe was their literal founding and was a working product. Throwing it out for a beta a literal beta when people would spend multiple months playing poe 1 with 3 leagues a year. They should have never lied, people saying they should just be happy with poe 2 or that poe 1 should just finish are gross and are allowing devs to straight up LIE to peoples faces. "Just be patient" "Grow up". Do you just lick the boot every time someone blatantly wrongs you?
