The game has been abandoned

We need to stop saying this is EA. This is not "early access" to a game. This is paid beta... at best.

Tell me, what's the difference between a "paid beta" and "early access"? You're free to do some research here, and not just base your answer on your own, internal, subjective logic.

Spoiler
Early access, also known as alpha access, alpha founding, paid alpha, or game preview, is a funding model in the video game industry by which consumers can purchase and play a game in the various pre-release development cycles, such as pre-alpha, alpha, and/or beta, while the developer is able to use those funds to continue further development on the game.

It doesn't matter what they call it. It's a way to fund the development by allowing players to pay to get access to a not even half-finished game that might not be finished by the end of 2025. On some level, they want our feedback to shape the game in some areas.

---

I find PoE 2 very boring right now, and I have stopped playing several weeks ago. And that's OK. I've tried it, I played it up to pinnacle bosses, I've given my feedback and I'm out until some things are being changed/added. And that is totally fine in a testing period. In no way, shape or form did they promise us a "complete experience" that would last us for months.
Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.
Genuine question, why are people so butthurt about a video game? DO I think there is stuff that needs fixed? Oh hell yeah but its EA this is expected i've played other EA games that was in it for years. Does it get annoying dying when the fps drops so bad everything on the screen freezes? YUP...

Its a game and people are working on it. The same people bitching up a storm all over these forums about GGG not caring or doing their jobs or how people are leaving the game are the same ones that are still playing. If its sooooo bad stop playing, uninstall and move on, yeah?

Call me crazy but if i dont like something maybe I voice my opinions then move on. Dont go back, dont go complain just MOVE ON to something else. Its truly so crazy with these generation of people and their neediness. I mean the crying and complaining non stop is absurd. Take some midol maybe put on a pad and try to relax.

Game needs work, game is getting work, its a PROCESS. Love the game cant wait to play more. IF you are needing new content already you clearly are playing way to freaking much. Its the same thing from COD players, run through everything in a week because you play 24/7 then complain there isnt much left to do or nothing new. SMH

this is what Steam says aboout EA titles...

"
What is Early Access?
Get immediate access to games that are being developed with the community's involvement. These are games that evolve as you play them, as you give feedback, and as the developers update and add content.

We like to think of games and game development as services that grow and evolve with the involvement of customers and the community. There have been a number of prominent titles that have embraced this model of development recently and found a lot of value in the process. We like to support and encourage developers who want to ship early, involve customers, and build lasting relationships that help everyone make better games.

This is the way games should be made.

an EA is the same thing as the game being in beta, just like all the previous open betas we had in poe1 that you could pay to be in. it clearly states on steam that an EA game is in development and is being developed with feedback from users playing an in development test version of the game.

so if people didnt know now everyone knows, everyone whos pretending not to know can stop pretending. can we just have normal conversations on the forums? shall we stop playing games? were all adults here, lets have serious adult conversations and not talk to each other like 7 year olds in a playground.

lets respect each others intelligence, not get hostile with each other or treat each other like fools. its all good, lets just get along and have productive dialogue? come on guys, its fine, we all just want all the games we play to be good games and that happens when we all give genuine productive feedback and dont antagonise each other.
I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

You’re over exaggerating yes but to be fair which i hate to do given how dumb your post is with 3.26 needing to happen like a while ago and poe 2 needing a lot of attention i figured they would weekly put out something at least mentioning what plans they have. Then again stuff like that would have to be riddled with ‘subject to change’ so in the end it’s nearly pointless
this isn't beta

the game has gone through multiple betas

and it's still trash

Ah yes, the Wikipedia copy-paste warriors are here.
Your own blind copy from Wikipedia proves the point I'm trying to make.

"Early access" can mean so many things and that's where people's frustrations are coming from. Is this game in alpha? beta? pre-alpha? Is this mostly a complete version of the game and they just need funds to add content on top of it?

"Beta" and "Alpha" are clear on what they mean: this game is very incomplete, full of bugs, imbalances, non-core mechanics may change, etc.

I've pre-purchased games in "early access" in which every fundamental/balancing/mechanic was already consolidated when it was available, and all they needed was to add content on top of that.

The fact GGG has been developing this for years now and has charged $30 for it doesn't help their case.
Just use your common sense. We paid $30 for an early beta access. Accept this fact and everything else will fall in line: unbalances, game feeling broken and boring, etc.

Lemme get this straight then - Wikipedia is an invalid source for a very general term, you claim EA can mean SO many things that it's impossible to understand, then finish by calling it "early beta access"

You realize if you change the position of two of those words you have "early access beta" DING DING DING!

I used Wiki as an example that "early access" can indeed, as you say yourself, mean a lot of things - so your expectation coming into the game is solely based on subjectivity, and not what an "early access" is or isn't.

I agree with everything here; unbalanced, game feeling broken and boring. The difference between us, is that I was totally expecting it. Paying $30 doesn't change anything. I've played (and payed for) "early access" titles that was hardly playable, and no matter how you turn things around, PoE 2 is more than playable and tons of people are clearly having fun.

Just not us. Which is fine.
