Main Reason why Mapping feels unfun
Not to sound like a jerk, but sincerely, why didn't you just clear more efficiently?
It's clear you were down at that portion of the map. Why not explore more of that portion of the map before moving on? Sure, the first time you're in a specific map, you may run into this issue, but after you've played a map more than three or four times, you should have an understanding of the layout and be able to run the map much more efficiently. The only maps I see an issue with is Forge, Abyss, and Crypt to a lesser extent. Edit: I do agree that the Checkpoint placement could be improved. " Imho checkpoints are a bandaid. I think when you look at this type of layout the main issue is it is too "labyrinthine". Too maze-like. These layouts would benefit from having some preset, larger tiles, like some courtyards and such, so that you can more easily traverse them and not just run down hallways. |

i dislike checkpoints, all of them, they are a really bad solution to the problem.
