Why I am not Playing POE2 Anymore and Want a new POE1 League ASAP.
There is a simple reason that I am not playing POE2 anymore even though I bought a Liberator of Wraeclast pack. Basically, in short, the game is boring.
* It doesn't have a crafting system. All gear in the game is basically RNG and RNG on steroids. What are the odds of dropping the right armor base, rolling movement speed, evasion, and fire resist on a pair of boots? In POE1 I can craft that. * The campaign is not just long, its tedious. You go into the Titan's Grotto in act 2 and just how many white packs and how far do I have to run to kill the Colossus? Seriously? Did they hire the designer of Death Stranding? * The Endgame is aimless pointless wandering. Should you go north or south? Head to the mountains or toward the water? Doesn't matter. Literally it doesn't matter one whit. You go to the mountains and are the maps all cold and dropping cold drops? No I get a swamp from the RNG. You can put tier 1 waystones in, crush maps trivially until you find a delirium node then throw in a t10 stone. But of course you have to slog through those trivial maps. In POE1 I can configure in the atlass tree within clearing a couple dozen maps that I want delirium in almost all maps. In POE1 I can go into delve and see how deep I can get and if I can kill the delve bosses which means I have to go deep to find them. * 90% of the skills are useless. There are only 3 or 4 warrior skills that are useful. In POE1 I can play cleave from the first town to the end of maps. * There is ZERO build diversity. All the builds that can succeed at this game are 1 or zero button blaster builds that trivialize bosses and clear entire screens. You might object that it will get patched out but the monster density and difficulty in maps means those are the only builds that can survive high level maps. So I am waiting for the new league in POE1 and I hope the release it soon because POE2 makes me not want to log in at all and settlers league is almost 8 months old now and run its course. I stopped too and started a minecraft world LOL
If they fix the endgame so I can level to 100 and not be bored or have net negative play sessions, I would play this game nonstop. With so many characters and ascensions there will be so much replayability. Right now, I agree that this just ain't it. It's not bingeworthy and it needs to be for release. |

" These are core issues and this needs to be reposted daily until addressed. The game is boring, overly simplistic, poorly balanced, and ultimately feels pointless. |

I don't even want to player PoE1 or PoE2 anymore honestly if things keep going as is for either game. The numbing of PoE1 game-play has burned me out so much that I don't even care about new content. If PoE2 keeps this slop balance state going after the next reset I'm probably done with GGG games. Copium is a finite resource, while other fun games are infinite.

Similar thoughts are starting to arise in me.And it's sad

" I agree but lets hope the drop in player numbers will send the right message. |

I agree. The current design is built around the assumption that players don't want to use their brains; no planning or strategy is necessary. Just let them run around aimlessly hoping for a lucky drop.

" The irony is though, that these drops rarely come, even when having invested heavily into magic find. I enjoyed the campaign, but got annoyed quickly of drop scarcity. I refuse to trade for loot. Imo any game that relies on ppl trading has a broken loot economy. And at least for me it removes the reason to play games like these entirely. Heck, the state in which Diablo III releases should be a warning to every developer how to not design a loot economy. Checking vendors every level is also not a solution but a band-aid on a festering wound. For now I can't bring myself to play PoE2 anymore. The sheer amount of loot rng makes diablo 4's release state pale in comparison. TL;DR: I just want to loot useful items, instead of grinding currency to trade. I hate grinding currency so I play SSF and that is where this game falls on its face.

The campaign is only 50% of the full version. There are 3 more acts to come so we won't be repeating half of it like now.
I will assume this is the bare bones of the game, the foundation so to speak and side quests / extra content with interesting rewards will come in time. The game needs the crafting bench. Maybe it's just not in yet. Hideout should have the NPC's your other characters have unlocked. Lots of fixes and QoL tweaks will come. Movement speed for the larger zones is needed. Or at least some decent uniques so that geared alts don't feel like they are in a running simulator all the way to maps. My biggest barrier is the trade league and trading. The currency exchange is brilliant, however, trading for items has so far been a horrible experience of silence and being completely ignored. PoE 1 much better using this same system, so I will put it down to new players and trade etiquette. |
