POE 2 Endgame Frustrations: 24 Delirious Maps Tested

From the maps you've shown in your video I can see that the map rarity is 62%, 0%, 0%, 94%, 0%, 19%, 0%, 22% and 27%. That's 25% on average, where do you get the 92% from?

92% Increased rarity on my gear (showed that in video). The maps rolled what they rolled and whatever i could get on the precursors. I don't have enough currency to "throw out" the maps that didn't get a good roll.

"
Don't take this the wrong way, but someone who can waste 400 exalts on juicing maps and has 40/40 achievements in the current PoE league isn't a "casual" player.

the 40/40 is POE1 league, which has been out for 6 months. I wish I had the exalts to waste....I wouldn't be upset if I did. I thought (like many I am sure that watched the video I watched...not going to mention the streamer, because that is not my point...but he has over 200k subs) that I would be getting a big return.

"
I just ran 34 T1 - T3 maps including 6 or 7 towers with my 3rd char coming from acts, most of them blue and only a few of them with extra content like breach. I got about 60 - 70 exalts worth of currency alone plus around 160 waystones T1 - T5 out of it. I didn't even throw a regal on waystones, just some trans/aug if necessary. Otherwise I just used the best ones I found.

So, all in all I can't complain except that my luck for divine drops is really bad. I only found one in about 300 hours of playtime among three chars and that was early in act 2 normal with the first char.

This is my point exactly. To commit that much time to playing and not be rewarded for your time feels crappy and needs to be fixed. They want us to "craft" but it is a casino and they simply don't give you enough chips to gamble with. And then the jewelers orbs...which I equate to getting a 6 link armour in POE1.... it is NOT that hard to get a six link in POE1 and damn near impossible for you to get one in POE2. That doesn't feel right to me either.

Ok, got that. It's just that you wrote "T15 maps with 92% rarity", you didn't mention gear.

I know, but nobody who does those dreaded "endgame grinds" is still a "casual", no matter how long the league is. The maximum I ever could be arsed to do is 36/40 and I wouldn't even call me a casual.

Dunno, but at least the use of Omens worth 144 ex seems like a very bad idea. Spending that amount of currency just to make sure you always get 3 prefix mods can't possibly increase the revenue by that much, especially because it also reduces your waystone drop rate.
It would've been much cheaper to trans + alt + regal + ex or alch + ex the waystones and simply not use the really bad ones.

I don't think you got my point. I do feel rewarded from those maps as it didn't cost me anything apart from a few trans and aug orbs plus my time. I got 60 - 70 ex plus whatever items I can sell out of nothing.
I get it that you don't feel rewarded, but I don't think you should blame the game that you didn't do the math beforehand.

You're absolutely correct about that. I hardly ever craft anything simply because it mostly results in the same useless rares you get from drops and the currency is much better invested in buying already good and suitable items of the market. That problem is more or less the same than in PoE 1 and it's sad they couldn't come up with something better.
And yes, the jeweller's orbs are way too rare. At the very least, you should be able to reforge them to the higher version. It's absolutely ridiculous that it's cheaper to simply vaal the gems...

Well, I do play with a few friends and we team up for the difficult stuff. Although some of the boss challenges this league were made trivial by the infinite vaal LS build. By casual player, I mean I get to play about 2 hrs a day...and maybe 3 on weekends. The only difference in POE2 is that my buddies and I planned some vacation time around the release so we got 2 weeks of "no lifer" play in (with permission from our wives of course LOL).

Again... I normally just use cheap currency as well to roll maps. BUT the video I watched showed a wAY better return...which is why I tried it. I have no issue with map drop rate at all. Especially post-patch. I have plenty of maps and certainly will be going back to doing what I was doing in the first place.

It is impossible to "do the math beforehand" when it comes to rolling maps. The closest you can get is to watch someone that did it already and that is exactly what I did. Maybe because I have a wife and kids I consider my time more valuable than you consider your time. That is a fair...but this game is not even close to how rewarding gameplay was in POE1, or is in other games.

One could argue that 16 hours per week isn't casual anymore, but dude, you have ten level 100 and one level 99 char in Settlers league alone. There's no way in hell you got that done with only 400ish hours of playtime in half a year. And even if, that's still as far away from "casual" as it gets. Getting to 100 once is a stupid grind already, but 10 times?

And I'm sure the reason for the better return wasn't the omens they used. The distilled emotions, maybe, but certainly not alone.

This was in relation to using the omens. It should've been obvious that this doesn't help enough to justify the costs. At the very least you should've done a few samples and compared those to the T15s you usually make the "regular" way, or - even better - look at the ones that streamer used. The numbers are certainly comparable.

There is a thing called "5-ways" which we used to earn divines and also level each other up. As for the rest...agree to disagree.

Yeah, I know. Casual players also don't do "5-ways" with their guildmates.

Is this a new rule you just made up? You are spending so much time on my one post and going through my account that my wife is starting to get jealous. You can disagree and judge all you want. I still get to give my feedback on the forums..that is what they are for...whether you agree or not. I hope you are policing every "casual player" post on the forums and not just mine...otherwise...my wife might be right in thinking you like me or something.
You did something wrong obviously
