Path of Exile 2: A Frustrating Disappointment
" "It's interesting that you point out a minor spelling mistake as though it invalidates the entire argument. This obsession with trivial details feels like a way to dodge engaging with the substance of what’s being said. As for the claim that I haven't made a point—ironic, considering your comment doesn't exactly overflow with insightful arguments, either. Try playing the game, you can experience the bugs, duping exploits and moron one shot mechanics in game for yourself like the countless others who reported the same brain dead end game content. If you want to have a productive conversation, how about addressing the actual content of the discussion rather than defaulting to condescension? For the record, I've said many things of value over the years, but to low-IQ individuals, it's as if I'm casting pearls before swine. |

" Yeah, that will tell the devs if 1% of people stop playing while more and more people are still buying the game. You people are seriously overstating how many people don't like the game. |

It is close to 350,000 players that have stopped playing in one month. You are on pace to collapse before you get out of EA. This is the exact same mistakes and goofy mechanics people begged them not to do in Poe1 during its beta phase. I was part of that and told them to fix melee and stop catering to the stupid traders. In response they doubled down where the game went from semi popular to a handful of hardcore trade simulation bros. The game about itemization needs to have proper drops, not a trade system. The majority of the players dont use the market nor care so why is anything oriented around it. The devs said they have made decisions based on the market. What market. Nobody cares about their pretend trade simulator. They lost the majority of players for this reason and now they are doing it again while you are defending this practice. They said they wanted more casuals and they said they were going to fix the issues of Poe1, but apparently not. The game is oriented in a manner that will guarantee its failure

It's really frustrating because the core of the game is really good. There's lots of fun to be had and some interesting ideas in here.
It's just held back by decisions like the idea that people really want to use an archaic website to trade, or that they want to trade at all in a game about finding loot. I don't want to fiddle with a website and trying to message randos to trade to get gear: I want to get it playing the game. Like, literally the single best change in all of Diablo 3 was when they got rid of trading systems and rebalanced the game toward "you/your multiplayer party have to find your own stuff". Learn from that. The only multiplayer I want here is to kill stuff with my friends, and ironically the game goes out of its way to make that a miserable experience once you're done the campaign. Ditto with the amount of trash drops and trash affixes. There's too much loot dropping that isn't interesting and not enough that is. Loot filters aren't a fix for this: they're a symptom of the problem. The real fix is making more of the drops actually worth looking at vs not being worth bothering to pick up (and the anemic storage space doesn't help this either). The trials are just an awful time with difficulty hinging way too much on the RNG. There's a bunch of currencies and specific items needed to interact with specific systems but the game doesn't want you to target farm those, so you end up with a pile of stuff hanging around until you can eventually do something with it. etc And why do Scrolls of Wisdom and identifying even exist? At this point an NPC does it for you so it's just a waste of time as well as extra clutter dropping these scrolls (until you get a loot filter to remove them). This still existing feels pointless and archaic at this point. This stuff is almost all fixable if someone wants to fix it, it's not like the core game is fundamentally flawed or anything. What's holding this game back at this point is the devs just being stuck in thinking "Diablo 2 did it so we should to" even if it doesn't make any sense anymore. I stopped playing Tencent-2, I don't like the single portal thing and as long as that and other things that punish the player (the rich punish the poor, and they are already rich, with scarcity and suffering) I won't play. I like games that are grateful to the player, not the ones that punish us and call it "difficulty". Difficulty is a challenge, but there is no challenge in having your back whipped while they laugh at you.
