You might as well never get out of home because there is a non-zero chance you might get robbed. Seriously, what kind of argument is that.
This game reduces many elements back to the worst parts of D2 and then makes them somehow worse like having to use a website.

fun fact. no matter how you defend them. by creating a system that allows scams to happen and not taking any action towards scammers, you need to realize that GGG is complicit.

GGG is fine with players getting scammed.

How can I defend them ? Cast a spell on you ?

Edit
Maybe I got you right, now. If I don't attack them, I might be considered that I am defending them unless I prove I am not to all of us.

Might as well I got to scam or I might be the one who scammed.

I have seem numerous threads/posts asking for an auction house and many times using scam protection as one of the reasons why it should be implemented. Some are even shocked why the current trading system is still in place.

To me there are many different ways how a player can feel cheated when trading. An auction house would not be the all saving perfection that some would want to portrait it as.

Let's say a player has difficulty pricing an item correctly when selling. When they try to sell a 20 Divine Orb item for only one Exalted Orb they will get spammed with requests. With the current system they have the option to react to that event and adjust the price. With an auction house the item was bought by a bot 0.1 second after listing.

I am sure there are other ways you could lose currency with an auction house, this was just the first to come to mind. The current system gives the player 100% control. Sure, they have to use it carefully. But if done so they have the tools to avoid 100% of the scams. With an auction house, GGG would have to think of every single possible way to prevent scams. And even if they can, the player still has to price the item correctly.

a very valid point.

to me i would say this, which is worse? losing things because you made a mistake on your end which you have no one else to blame but yourself.

or losing things because people actively want to scam you with malicious intent.

in both your participation is required somewhat. but being scammed is still worse.

if you queued up and bought a nice meal, you tripped and fell. you lost the meal. thats sad. but its just a silly mistake you can laugh off.

if you queued up and bought a nice meal, but a person just grabbed the meal after you paid and ran off. thats a whole different ordeal.

I agree that it is worse. 100%.

For me personally the more important difference is, do i have the possibility to avoid it?

For me the most important thing is that people see an auction house a little bit more critical and not as the all saving solution. It also would have difficulties to overcome.

one way to alleviate this issue is to have a confirmation screen and/or even a delay

its similar to how in gmail you can put a setting where mails are deliberately delayed by 1-2 minutes. within those 1-2 minutes you could click "unsend" to cancel the email from being sent out.

ggg could even give us a preview of how our listing would look like on their site.

The definitive root of this course is "we have to do something or we waste our time" policy.

Edit
I believe AH will support every one of us in that manner. We can still choose not to interact directly at least.
