Quitting this game after being scammed out of all of my currency

1. You should instantly block anyone who leaves a trade early, no exceptions.

2. That's the whole point of trading, global pvp, and you lost at it.

The whole point of trading is scamming people? That's quite the interesting take there and says quite a lot about you.

No, the game is still at fault for having a system this antiquated be the primary method of trading. Stop trying to excuse hateful dev behavior and these stupid systems that should have been replaced 10 years ago.

Following your logic, if looking at your phone while walking, then falling because you did not see a pothole, it is the phones fault.

The system is working. There could be more safeguards. But it is still working. You always see what you trade. At some point you have to take responsibility for your actions.

Edit:
That being said, to me the scammer is still at fault. It just could have been avoided. And the game is designed for the player to avoid it.

All this talk about it being the player's fault seems a little funny. In real life, it's real life. The only dev is the universe. This is a game. If scamming is unintented - which it looks like the scammer's account was flagged for this reading the post above - then it isn't like they can't have systems to prevent it. In real life as well, you get arrested for scamming people a lot of the time. It is actually very illegal. If someone cons you over a time-share, you can take them to court. Most countries have laws regarding it.

Slipping and falling because you weren't looking is not really the same thing. Because it isn't illegal or immoral for an inanimate object to make you fall down. There can only be one fault.

These are instances where an actual person is attempting to wilfully mislead someone for personal gain, the only question is whether it is allowed or not. Since said scammer or at least someone doing the exact same thing got an account flag, then it appears to be against the rules. Until a system exists to prevent this, or GGG says it is okay to roleplay Pipkin the churlish rogue, report these morons.
This is what an auction is for - instant sale.
And there will be no scams, bots, or lowering prices for misconception.

I think this can be done, GGG has already done this with the currency auction.
Awwh man.. Guess you never played D2 back in the day lol. This scam got everyone at least one time. Just sit out and come back after a reset or 2, it really sucks but you'll never fall for it again now at least.
The game doesn't have an AH, it should but it doesn't. That means you are left to the tender mercies of the bots, scammers and the internet in general.

IOW, you're on your own, you have to be vigilant if you jump into these shark infested waters.
Console loot filter for POE2 Please!
Any seasoned PoE player can identify the red flags of a scam attempt. You know how we do it? We didn't quit when we didn't get what we expected on a trade.

You'll get over it. If you found a Mirror of Kalandra tomorrow, it would still ultimately be a nothing burger because Early Access will never migrate into standard when this game launches its 1.0 release. None of this counts. NOBODY is going to care about 'early access standard' after 1.0. It'll effectively be a voided league that you can log into--and I wouldn't put it past GGG to just remove it down the road anyway, lol. They said they'd keep it. I wouldn't believe them if they said water was wit.

You should view early access as a sandbox for learning as much as you can before the real game is released. PoE is full of 'I wish I knew that at the time' moments. Everybody has had them.
Bummer.
Well take it as a life lesson, and approach trade like you would driving.
Assume everyone else is a jackass after your hide.
Just look at some of the replies and you’ll understand why.

I've had my share of good and bad experience in PoE2. I've been on the receiving end of kind traders who will give a 1 ex item for free, and I've tried to pay it back in kind by handing out items and exalted as much as I can to new players. I'm not a great player by any means. I try to follow builds, make adjustments as I see fit, and grind as much as my job will allow. I think that's over.

A recent interaction literally just makes me want to puke. I earned my currency over the course of 80 hours of gameplay, buying magic bases and crafting them up to better rare bases. Selling until I saved up 18 divines. I spent 3 days checking the trading site on and off to try to get a Morior Invictus with 10% All Elemental Res + 5% Attributes. After finally sending a trade invite to a guy and finally getting the invite accepted, I entered the trade with him and he showed the real item.

He quit the trade, reentered and I proceeded to put in the same currency... just to get scammed when he dropped in a chest with 5% Max Life + 10% Elemental Res. Literally worth 25 exalts.

I work 10 hours a day. I don't have time or patience anymore to hideout warrior my way back to getting enough currency to get to the stage of the game I was just at. I get that I was a dumbass for not double checking after he exited the trade. But I'm done. I just don't have it in me anymore to see all that I had go down the drain just cause some asshole wants to scam his way to getting currency. Fuck this trading system, and fuck this game.

These scammers are a real bane for this game, that's a fact and it's nothing new.

If you give up something you love for some big human sh*t it's kind of like you're letting them have power over you in my opinion.

The first headhunter I looted maybe 7 years ago in PoE was stolen by an acquaintance IRL so I can understand the feeling you have :)

You can try to take a little break or consider playing PoE 1 at your own pace (even if it's a bit dead at the moment^^)

Anyway, I hope something better happens to you :)
I don't have much, but I can give you 10 Divine orbs and hopefully someone will give you the other 8 to cover your loss.
I don't buy gear I craft my own, so I don't really need it anyway.
