Uniques are supposed to be build enabling intead of best in slot.....

Just to play devil's advocate... a 50% life boost would be nice for a summoner who's confident in their ability to mitigate how often they get hit. That's a decent chunk of spirit.

so instead of 0% elemental resist you will take full damage as physical instead ? whats the point here ?

it would make sense in PoE1 where armor actually works and you can roll raw phys reduction and do the whole "split the large hit into several much smaller ones that each get reduced separately" but here shifting elemental into physical does NOTHING

Thats not how poe works, in poe you convert your life into Mana.
Oh and into ES and into Spirit, and then take Eldritch Battery so you don´t have ES because it gets turned into Mana too.
Then you get that other trolling item that turns Mana into ES.

Always funny how alot of people complain about the campaign beeing too hard, when they run around in +10%Fire Resistance gear and get stunned because they don´t have the big lifepool which is actually just disguised Mana.

It somewhat works for early-mapping.

I tried two variants:

1. Veil + Blackbraid, basically making me defend against hits with armor only.

Max roll magic find boots/gloves/rings/amulet with armor/life related affixes.
(They are considered trash, I bought them for 5 exalts or something)

And it somewhat works man. I mean White/Yellow maps without much issue.

2. Veil + Kaom, with witch-hunter elemental shield.

Same as above, full armor/life focused. 5k life, ~3k shield.

It makes you almost immortal on the way to red maps.
Super cheap starting magic find.

The only downside was, that I had to replace all items at once, when I got to red maps.

But I got my 75% Ingenuity with this build... So think about it.

I want to say, that on my builds, I had no other "Increase" of life.

So for all means and purpose... INCREASED LIFE had absolutely the same effect as MORE LIFE would have had.
