Warrior/Mace - how to finaly fix it and still keep it interesting

Its EA, have pretty much every kind of character there is. It's pretty limiting in case you hadn't noticed and the game play difference between every character/class vs mace is ridiculous. You don't have to read or comment in here no ones forcing you to chase attention :)

Problem is not in skills. It is in monsters and damage balance.

" Yes, that is also a problem. But right now, Warrior is simply inferior to Ranger/Witch/Mercenary etc., which shows, that this class needs changes. And while you can play the others quite save no matter the build, the suggestions that are made here all lead to "Get these nodes and you're good to go". But if you force warriors to take certain nodes in order to be successful, then there is no build variation. Build variation comes, when you can literally play anything and it still works out. And that only works if skills are designed in a way, that the players skill is an important factor. That's why they introduced WASD+Dodge Roll. That's why so many skills and auto attacks allow movement while "casting/attacking". But the warrior doesn't have that. To many skills cannot be used while moving. And even if they move like Rolling Slam, it's just to slow to be useful. The other classes have way more mobility on top of their range. The exception is monk, but this class is really fast and mobs rarely have a chance to do anything before monk attacks. But with warrior? Enemies can attack at least once or twice, before the warrior attack happens. And that means death in end game. |

Moving is a problem for sure - using molten blast but being forced to swing in a circle and move forward when your optimal damage is either close or far away or right in the middle - build dependant is ridiculous because with my spark i can stand dead still and unload 15x the dps in a fraction of the time without moving and WITHOUT AIMING - this also goes for my invoker, my gemling staff stacker my bloodmage and my chrono. Then we have the heavy armour and shield movement pentalities which made arbiter wipe me because i was literally too slow to move to the blank channels, it's like theyve given the warrior/melee all these pentalies and treating it like its actually 50x better than all other classes when it's inferior and then has added penalties. Unreal!
- we shouldnt be forced to move during certain attacks when others aren't - over XXX strength should lessen or remove heavy item penalty because we're strong enough to carry things, it should affect linen wearing sissy casters. - we have to aim almost all attacks when casters/ranged can just one button tap in the middle of the screen and everything around it blows up. - forgot the life, even with 15% titan has 1000's of HP less than a gemling and bloodmage when shes on life remants, how does a caster and a weird class have more HP than the actual tank classes? This is also ridiculous, the warrior ascendancies should have the most HP and best HP regen in the game, fricking fixxxxx it man! After trying the Arbiter bossfight with my Warrior Titan i think i know whats missing here, wasnt there an ascendancy node in poe1 to negate the effect of wearing heavy armour on your movement speed?!
Well, without something like that your Arbiter of Ash is the Arbiter of Death because there is no way i am fast enough to get into the safe spots quick enough, some of the circles were also off my screen hahaha brilliant, not. |

" Life/Armor flat out need buffs. IDK why GGG has always had a hate boner for buffing proper melee and letting Armor actually do something. Got one shot by my first encounter with the column wielding quadrilla map boss today by its slam attack that went faster than I could react to dodge at 71+% armor and almost 3300 life. Armor dramatically needs to be buffed in so many ways and we need far more reliable access to Life on Red side. Movement speed, though... " ... They could (and should) fix move speed by removing the loss on armor all together, give all boots innate movespeed (less for full armor, most for full EV) with hybrid movespeed+defense and movespeed+life/mana while nerfing pure movespeed mods a bit to compensate. Maybe pure evasion would still get a bit more MS out of it with top mods, but Armor would be tons easier to get decent move speed while significantly reducing the footwear pain point of needing one, single mod giving at least 20-25% to even consider wearing. |

Yeah bro there was a node under the duelist for negating armor + movespeed and juggernaut had unstoppable which was the 10% movespeed ascendancy and I had the EXACT same issue with Arbiter - smash him with a hammer, he moves to secondary and starts the fire break shit, my movement speed with 35% boots and acceleration on necklace (just for this issue) which shoulda been 38% was down to 23% or something with shield and armor. THe whole reason we're warriors is "strength" and it should negate carrying heavy stuff somehow.
CPT yeah the armour is pointless - I was tankier on my max block build with 20% armor, 20% evade because of max block giving 4% hp back and res being maxed and over (85 fire etc) - again they buff resistances and give all monsters elemental attacks, so few phys hits but then when they have them its like 600k slam attacks which would destroy 140k armor which we can't get close to, lol. They should leave all other classes as in no nerfs because other people playing doesnt affect me and just focus on bringing warrior up a HEAP for next patch like that guy said on the stream. Like, TONNNNSSSS - buff damage of stampede and shield crush frick loads so we can clear a screen like a 1 tap spark or 1 tap tempest flurry too. More HP, Armor everything get it closer to what its like playing other classes :( |

" Correct, completely agreed, the whole combo thing they tried going for would work in a more slower paced style game, but in POE2 no way. Even in POE1. Lets not forget there are like 1 life node on the TREE and armour is well... trash.. need I say more? For EHP you're forced to run block. Boring, what if I just wanna be a big 2h dual wield mace warrior with heavy armour swinging my shit around, why do my defences have to be punished? A ranger in a dress is more tanky than me....?
