FEEDBACK > Unfun Death penalties + solution
" its all about balance, and games are supposed to be fun, not down right punishing actions should have consequences, but it has to be within reason and balance. this system is not balanced and the punishment outweighs the fun Edit i am not talking about removing all the punishments, i am talking about changing 1 of the 3 punishments you get on softcore when you die, and that is going back to 6 portals, and i also made a suggestion on to how to make it so people dont just run do dmg and die, than repeat till mob is dead. " I think pretty much everyone understands that. It seems you don't understand it's that very PENALTY that makes the game unfun. I do think there's a reason no other ARPG has taken this ultra-punishing high-penalty approach. Sure both PoE1 and D2 had death penalties, but neither were so punishing and rippy, especially to nonsense trash mob mechanics. Then when you combine exp loss with map and loot loss, it's pretty over-the-top. My 92 titan is hardly optimized, and 1-shots all bosses but constantly gets 1-shot to white and blue trash... and yes I have 4k+ life, max all res, 90% phys reduc, max block, etc. That's called bad design from my perspective. It's like the devs never payed attention to how few people played PoE1 Ruthless, and decided to make all of PoE2 based around Ruthless. Why is pretty much anyone's guess at this point. |

" Pretty much This was even repeated by the devs in the talk as well. Some players just cant accept it Mash the clean

" The deaths already do that. Any game that I'm in where I start dying lots, has me going to look at my build and gear. I don't need xp loss on death to tell me that. Why do you think players will just ignore the deaths? Running into a map and dying over and over gets old after 20 minutes of it. Come on now, be honest. |

" I want an ss of your 90% pdr warrior right now along with its raw armour value Mash the clean Last edited by Mashgesture#2912 on Jan 15, 2025, 2:55:04 PM

" LOL The game gives you a waystone , you go in there doing whatever you can to survive and a purple sh1t is coming from nowhere and you die. The game is unbalanced , the RNG in loot is awful if you don't play trading simulator I am lvl 81 warrior playing T11 maps and i had found 1 divine orb yesterday I am playing with the same weapon from act 3 cruel Campaign was a game that you had to learn how to play End game is not. Its a trading / crafting simulator in a RPG without loot and maps with 1 trillion mobs and projectiles in the screen. And among other you get a penalty from dying. So what to improve ? Ridiculous comment A freaking game that you have to press escape and feel you are a good player or to play a trading game / crafting game Pfff , thx GGG you didn't advertise the game like this one Ok it was fun for 30 euros and almost 200 hours , ranting in this forum is not going anywhere So for everyone that feels like me , leave the game for the hardcore / imba players and for GGG No need to say anything more , have fun ppl enjoy your game |

" Isn't that the xp penalty is for? Will never understand the reasoning for defending multiple stacking penalties. Do you play hardcore? If you don't, whatever your answer is, is why people don't like the death penalty you are defending to a lesser degree. |

" You should be running t15+ if youre a level 81 warrior. My alt char is a 75 warrior and he is running t12 - t13's. You need to improve something the monster level on t11 is 76 | |
" That sounds like a bullshit. My 89 Titan has 3,7k Life, 83/77/77/75 Fire/Cold/Lightning/Chaos res, absolutely no investment in block and about 10k armor (67%) and he is definotely not constantly 1-shotted by anything. Randomly insta killed by rare? Yes. But not constantly by blue and white trash. |

" why should i accept it?? i am here to argue my case and make them change their mind, and that is also the reason why there is a feedback forum. if you think there is something wrong or needs to be changed, you go to the feedback forum and you argue your case whether i am wrong or the dev in the interview is wrong is up to the player base, you can argue that they are the devs and they are in charge and can do what ever they want, and that is true But if its flawed or wrong, people will not play it, and they need players to play the game, they need enough players to play the game to keep the game alive. so if the dev is "right" but too many are dissatisfied with the mechanics than, the mechanic is most likely wrong or flawed. |
