Poe2: I notice that 90% of famous streamers use only 4 Builds out of 50 options they have
" There are like 7-8 really strong ones, out of those realistially it's about quarterstaff that's cheap and strong. It's a punisihng game, people don't want to spend 3 monthts getting to Tier 2 map. It's also EA, let people play? Idk. |

It's just the 80-20 rule/Pareto Principle in action. All they can do is refine by trial and error to try and balance things out so more builds are viable. But the overwhelmingly most likely result of any change they do is that one of the 4 OP builds will become too weak and another build will take its place as one of the 4 OP builds and people will still continue to play 4 builds. It's just the nature of power. Any advantage in efficiency is going to be magnified exponentially as you apply it over and over again for thousands and thousands of fights.

" I just wasted another two days leveling my self-made build. The reason streamers only use 4 builds is that there are only 4 good builds, and maybe 10 viable builds, the former 4 included. The devs originally wanted the game to be "slow and methodical" which is why most skills and potential playstyles suck at doing the ACTUAL CONTENT like breaches or rituals. Like take staggering palm. Anyone's seriously gonna use that in a breach? Or why the hell whirling assault AoE doesn't scale (not even talking about how it actually feels WORSE than stampede)? Why everything's designed in a way that makes life leech as one of the primary defense layers practically impossible (i mean sure people use leech but those are builds that have leech, not built around leech)? Why is it the only skill that makes dual wielding FASTER instead of slower is armour breaker, a skill which is useless for pretty much anything? Seriously there won't be any build diversity in this game until the devs pick a direction. Be it slow and methodical or zoom zoom i'm ok with whatever they choose, as long as the ENTIRE GAME is balanced around it. |
