POE2 Cosmetics Disappointingly Expensive
this is my 2 cent on this topic
correct me if i'm wrong back in the forsaken masters era mtx use to be more affordable but after ggg get sell or partner idk with Tencent having the impact most mtx go up from i think 25% to 50% more but personally just buy pack and not point only , after you wait for sell , and end with a good value , you are not force to buy anything , compare other arpg d4 you have to pay $89.99 USD for ea and after expansion (1 class amost no content) $80.00 USD and after with season pass $10.00 USD and you end with a empty broken game , oh i forgot they also sell skin from 30 to 65 USD maybe more lol ggg is free to play play my first rpg on the intellivision :) Chris Wilson"I want to make sure that melee classes are as good as they can be" Last edited by charley222#3935 on Jan 2, 2025, 10:57:20 AM

It's probably been said already but PoE1/2 is Free to play (not counting the 30$ entry fee for EA) while D4 you had to pay a high entry price AND another entry price for their Xpak (Xpak are free in PoE). Knowing that and the fact that they need a revenue, store prices are as expected and understandable.

" Bro, literally the game will be free to play upon full release. You could have waited until then and not complain. Check D4 horses? How much is the price? You don't need any MTX to play the game. |

" Bro, literally just giving a constructive observation. You could have chilled and not attacked. The horses still have four hooves. I checked. Since we're going there... Diablo 4 is a hybrid model. The game has a store, and it has seasonal content. The development of both is supported by MTX sales. All the cosmetics are cheaper than POE2 cosmetics. Diablo Immortal is a free-to-play model. The game has a store, and it has content updates. The development of both is supported by MTX sales. All cosmetics are cheaper than POE2 cosmetics. I don't expect to make a post and GGG will immediately lower prices. I would expect that whoever is managing their store might look at feedback, sales, and ways for them to increase interest in MTX. I care enough about the game that I wanted to share that feedback. That is all. Last edited by Artifex#9524 on Jan 4, 2025, 11:16:43 PM

I wish we would all could come to an agreement that if the prices were around $15 maybe even $30 for a skin that GGG would make more money than whales buying an $84 dollar skin and then claiming just buy a pack and you get more.
Prices were not always this way, up to Metamorphosis I had spent up to $1000 on skins, portals, packs, and whatever else. In POE 1 I have MTX's that can fill about 30 characters. With this price model I could maybe get away with 10 or 20 max characters. If that $84 dollar skin was like $30 that would cover the free to play portion and more people would buy it. Instead you have a good majority of people wondering why they have $15 dollars in their account and can only afford very minor MTX's or tabs. $15 to $84 is just too much for someone to think they are going to close that gap by buying points or a pack. Now if it was $30 or $40 someone would probably be more enticed to say yeah I'll just buy points to close the gap. All of you claiming packs give you a lot and just deal with it are part of the problem. Think it through a little more and imagine more quantity over higher price. Just don't buy MTX's is a stupid argument because no one would be in this thread if they didn't want to buy MTX's. |

I have never bought MTX. I always just used the default stuff and freebie / league MTX .
But when I went to the ingame store to see what actually would work with POE2, I was disappointed at the cost and selection. Like it must be that the people buying MTX musg want their character to look as freaky as possible. So sorry Mr Titan, I think you're still wearing a dress 👗 until they fix armor or make a cheap armor MTX that looks jugg like. I thought it was weird that the armor energy shield bases still look like robes and not paladin armour. |

I do agree the MTX are expensive, but I don't think this is a fair comparison.
That other game's cosmetics are class locked. POE's cosmetics can work on any character. I would even go so far as to multiply that other game's prices by 5 or 6 to get a more fair comparison.. but at this point, we are comparing apples to oranges. Some people might not care about class locked MTX, but I do, so I consider it an important factor. This reason alone is why I have never, and never will, purchase anything in that other game. |

" 💯 " To an extent. Some sets are not class-locked (battle pass) and they can be used on multiple characters at the same time. There are definitely differences, but I think it's probably closer to different types of apples than apples and oranges. 🤷🏻 Having a single cosmetic that costs more than the average full release of a new game seems a bit much. Normalizing that seems even worse. Last edited by Artifex#9524 on Jan 24, 2025, 7:57:44 AM

Game is F2P
your D4 costs 60+ bucks (only for the game) + extra skin costs 10 bucks PoE2 wins. Prices are fine. |
