Trade overhaul

Path of Exile 2 need a trade overhaul.

Trading has to be made easier. I have read 2017 manifesto about why trading is in current state and frankly it doesn't make any sense.

Main issue that was addressed there is the gap between trading players and non-trading players, and that GGG didn't want that gap to be that drastic - hence "difficult" trading, so that traders couldn't get that far ahead.

Idea is simple - if you trade, your journey should be harder, coz otherwise you will be blasphemously strong compared to somebody, who doesn't even know to how trade. To avoid that gap they made trading slow, hard and frustrating.

Problem with that approach is that people, who want to play the game seriously, trade and minmax will do so regardless - they used to trade in chat, then on forum, now on /trade2, but casual player will never go on recourses outside of the game - they won't even know these resources exist. And even if they did many people don't want to spend so much time on selling items that they got (which 99.9% of the time cost 1 ex or less), coz you have to look out how much it costs, put it on tab, wait for buyer, leave you farming area, go to him, or wait for him to come to you, trade and go back to actually playing the game. If you are on a boss or challenge you might not even have a chance to reply.

After campaign real upgrades to 1-10 exalt items cost so much, that player has either to buy and sell a lot of items for profit (not playing the game) or leave playing areas to constantly trade low cost stuff (also not playing the game).

If in-game trading auction house would be implemented there would be some changes:

1) Serious traders will become even wealthier and stronger.
Who cares? It's PvE game. Power of other people doesn't affect me at all.
2) Casual players will know about trading.
Great, more people engaged into economy.
3) People who don't have all day to play will be able to sell their items, while they are offline.
Great, more power for those guys.
4) The better your gear is, the harder it is to get an upgrade.
Difference between 10 exalt build and 1 0divine build is way less, then between 10 exalt build and SSF build.
that lessens player power gap and allows people to spend more time engaging with amazing game, thinking about their build and possible upgrades.
5) It will also remove price fixers.
There are players out there who intentionally place an item for cheap and never sell it. It is made to fool other players into thinking their loot is worth less and placing it for basically free. They then proceed to by all of these cheaper items and selling them for profit. that wouldn't be possible with instant buy-out on auction house.

If you gave me 1 million dollars and Jeff Bezos 2 gazillion dollars I would be happy, coz latter does not affect me, but I didn't have to spend half my time, sitting in hideout and scraping for an upgrade, and how much mode does he have is none of my concern.

I have been playing for 200 hours and have 3 characters, one of which is level 88 with cracked gear. I one shot everything on maxed maps. And kill bosses in up to 5 second.
All my friend did not know about trading website, or new and couldn't bother spending their precious time sitting there instead of playing that amazing game.
If trading was easier I would be one-shotting everything and killing bosses in 1 second - that makes no difference to me. But more casual player would be able to get a glimpse of that power and now spend 20 minutes on act 2 final boss.

Please GGG make trade easy. Make trade for everyone. Lets us play the game.

Yes, good idea
For sure! I just don't wanna get interrupted with trades for like 30% of playtime. However I wanna get good items for me in exchange for good items to others
There has been a long running issue that people stop responding to lower value trades as time passes in a league - which has transposed onto poe2 EA. It is frustrating to try and trade for anything when no one will respond to 1-2ex trade requests because leaving their current activity is tedious, and will most likely cost them more in opportunity cost than making a measly 1-2ex on the trade.

There needs to be an automated process so people don't have to arbitrarily leave their current play and do a tedious trade interaction with a minimum of 2 load screens and where neither player actually talks to each other.

Can we make it profitable for you even? Maybe develop a new trade specific premium tab that lets you auto-buy items like this? I'd buy that.

Relying on third party applications like poe-overlay, awakened poe trade, and poe lurker to make trade suck less is an awful insult to player's time.
I think I saw automatic bots selling items in poe1.

I have absolutely seen currency flipping bots - which is probably why we have a currency exchange now.

Totally agree with you. It is not worth stopping farm on high levels to got out of your way and sell cheap item that somebody needs.

Issue got even worse in PoE 2 when you have limited enters to your map, which are wasted when you go to sell something.

And same can be done with items.
I completely agree with the topics written in the post.
