Why do we punish children? (XP death penalty)

The problem is that game is not suited for harsh death penalties. I can breeze through the end game no prob, my char is OP. But I find myself stuck on leveling. One map gives me 1-2 percent of full bar. So it's long way and things happen. Game laggin at peak times or on too many screen effects. Sometimes it just hangs I have to alt f4. Yesterday ritual was right next to the switch and I tried to hit the monster but my char started to turn the wheel - no immunity frames. Sometimes he does not respond to the input, just standing taking hits. The other day he somehow lost all the mana in fraction of a sec. At times you cannot see anything because of effects. Taking all this into account it's hard to progress over such a long period of time.

No, it makes you try to play the game more seriously, and gives weight to death. XP penalty is a symptom people are getting angry at because the endgame is extremely imbalanced at the moment. XP penalty is good.

It's not. It's completely archaic and backwards design that only increases player frustration tenfold. PoE doesn't offer a system to get it all back, so there's no fairness here. If anything, it actively gatekeeps the player from progressing until they grind out the next level before attempting the unknown. This is especially obnoxious at higher levels, where one death can set you back hours of playtime. It's stupid, it's dumb, it needs to go.

I leveld to 100 every single league ever in poe1, i also leveld to 100 in the poe1 beta and im around lvl97 now in PoE2.

I personally like the xp death penalty and i hope it will always be a part of PoE, much like it was a part of Diablo 2.

What i don't like is the 1 portal system. Mostly because this will create an all or nothing balance landscape. For example: if they were to ever nerf evasion + acrobatics from how amazing it is currently (like they did in PoE1 for the addition of Spell Suppression), it will instantly become an "unreliable defensive layer", and once its unreliable in a game with only 1 chance per map, i will simply NEVER play that again.

I don't want my endgame experience to be unreliable, and so i will make content and videos suggestions players to completely avoid all builds that rely on that unreliable defensive layer.

This 1 death or brick your citadel or uber boss you spent 20 hours to unlock, creates an ALL OR NOTHING, environment to me when it comes to build diversity.

XP penalty is totally fine it dsnt prevent you from playing the game. You can also buy omens that will reduce xp penalty loss by 75% if what you truly care about is reaching level100, something that is completely unnecessary to actually doing endgame in path of exile.

That's rich coming from a guy who plays this game for several hours every day. Dude, you have 16 lvl 100 characters. Of course you don't give a shit, you are playing so much it doesn't matter for you. Getting to level 100 is steady progress, and that process gets interrupted with XP penalties. Not only do you need to run content matching your level or higher, or else you get little to no EXP, you also lose a ton of progress you made the past couple hours. So, you are actively being forced into running higher level content to make any meaningful progress, and at the same time you are constantly at risk of losing the time you already spent. And the whole "buy an item to alleviate some of it" is just complete BS on top.

No, when you create your character, you should focus on offensive aspects just like defensive too. Poe 1 had this huge issue where death wouldn't matter really, so the optimized way of playing would just be to ignore your defenses all the way and just yolo damage and clear multiple screens which is ultimately degenerate gameplay and ignore half of the character progression.
