Changing This Title to KNOWLEDGE FOR NEWBS...ENDGAME STYLE
Phew loads of questions... :)
First off - yes you do need to cap ele res first and foremost, chaos res is next. There is a lot of chaos dmg in the game now and it does hurt a lot but ele dmg is still far more common, so thats prio #1. Generally speaking: - Explore maps up to roughly 1 screen away from your starting point in every direction. - Eventually you will discover a black labyrinth with a red skull as a questmarker - Doryani wants you to go in there, do it and realise its locked - Doryani will tell you then to find keys and unlock the thing insinde (what could possibly go wrong, right?) - Now this is where im struggling a lot - I have no clue how to find those key thingies. I have played a lot and I have 2 characters lvl87 or so and I found one singular thingie. Not sure if Im missing something or its purely RNG based, no idea at all. Im just exploring and hope to find those things eventually and it doesnt feel right to say the least. Atlas passive tree: Doryani will grant you passive points for completing his quests, like farm 10 t1 maps and then 10 t2s and so on (higher tiers work btw, doesnt need to be specifically t1 or whatever he asks you to do. Just cant be lower). For each of those quests you´ll get 2 atlas points and you wanna rush waystone quantity (not quality!), packsize, chance to drop higher tier waystones and item rarity roughly in that order. Special events: There is a button top left to show what the icons on maps mean. You dont have to do any of those special events, which will drop special loot but are also very rippy. Especially Rituals are notorious for chaos dmg and you dont wanna touch it, unless either your chaos res is fairly high or you are farming lowtier content thats not threatening at all. You can invest later into those events too and juice them up, if you like but thats waaaay down the road. For now just keep exploring, get your atlas points, dont die and stay sane ;) Thats basically it. |

" Check the button top left on the atlas. It will explain all the icons. And no, not every map has a boss. Maybe every 4th or 5th on average or so. You can tell before you go in and thats when you wanna bring you highest tier maps and roll them well for waystone dropchance. Be aware tho, that every mod you add also makes it more difficult. So be careful and dont overdo it. |

Since this thread is turning into a bastion for new players working on endgame, I have one more burning question. How the hell does crafting work?
I know "disenchanting" gives very minor currency for Regal Orbs. "Salvaging" gives you pieces to assemble an Artificer's Orb. While "Reforging" will combine 3 items of the same rarity & (middle) name to forge a new item averaging out the stats of the three items used. I have no clue what else there is to crafting though. How do I use essence for crafting? How are people making OP (overpowered) items? Is it worth the time to craft, or are we better off just farming for drops? Once again, thanks to all of you more knowledgeable than myself in answering these questions. I'm sure I am not alone when it comes to confusion on these topics. If you don't mind using your intellect one more time, I could really use some clarity on what I should (and shouldn't) be trashing in my stash. Even after spending 600 cash store currency on tabs, it still doesn't feel like merely enough. I guess 8 tabs and a quad of just yellow (rare) equipment will clog anyone up though. What should I be hanging onto, and how should I be implementing it into crafting? I know I sound like a broken record, but truly, deeply, and with much PoE luv...thank you to all those in this community (especially @Orbaal#0435), for taking the time to respond to questions that will help thousands of people enjoy the game even more. ☺ Regards, Edgar Allen POE2 Last edited by EpicOne#0891 on Dec 21, 2024, 3:52:05 PM

Eeew crafting... erm yeah thats a tough one.
It boils down to 3 options in PoE2. 1. Slam currency on items, pray to RNGsus and hope for the best 2. Pick up items, ID them, pray to RNGsus and hope for the best 3. Do what everyone else does: Go to the trade site and buy whatever you need off other players. https://www.pathofexile.com/trade2/search/poe2/Standard Im using a mix of those tbh but I wouldnt recommend crafting in its current state. I do pick up items and ID them, 99% go straight to the disenchanter and the remaining 1% look decent enough to justify slamming 1 or 2 exalts and then goes to the disenchanter afterwards... :p Now there are some QoL tricks: 1. CTRL-click Doryani when you are done farming, he will auto-ID all items in your inventory. 2. CTRL-click the Disenchanter to bypass the textmenu and sell items srtaight away 3. Use the Reforge Bench to upgrade you maps. If you put 3 T1 waystones in there (same rarity for all) those 3 waystones will turn into 1 T2 waystone. You sure sacrifice 3 waystones for a single higher one but its also fairly easy progression in terms of tiers. Do that whenever you come across a boss and you have plenty waystones of whatever tier you are currently farming. Sacrifice 3 to 1 higher, roll it and use it for the bossmap. Ideally you get at least 1 or 2 higher waystones out of the bossfight and that can allow fairly quick progression towards higher tiers. Which is great as long as you can handle the higher difficulty. 4. Efficiency bonus Hideout is lava, so you dont want spend time there. Once you get your personal Hideout (check icons on the atlas and get yourself one asap) make sure everything you need is nearby the mapdevice. You can re-decorate the entire thing if you want to but thats not the point here. All you want are the following things right next to your mapdevice: - Stash - Reforge Bench - Salvage Bench - Doryani - Disenchanter You wanna be able to quickly access all of those, get your busywork done and hop right into the next map. |
