until GGG does get around to help everyone merge their characters and accounts, there is a way to trade.

When Trying to trade on the PoE2 Trade DB, instead of clicking "direct whisper" click the arrow next to it and select "copy whisper" then paste that in the in-game chat.

Have you got a solution for console players then?

The "new" account from poe2 does not even show any info on the characters I cerated or anything else.
I did merge them (which was confusing already) and now I cannot trade in poe2 with the "your account must be in-game" error message.
I´ve switched my two accounts back and forth to no avail on the poe website.
Also on PS5 the "copy whisper" is not really helpful.
And if the player you want to trade with has special (in this case asian) characters in their name, it is practically impossible to do manually.

So, pleeeease fix!!

It shows me some character i played years ago for 1 hour.
Impossible to switch. Cannot trade.
They need make ingame trade.

I also have 2 accounts on the website, my POE1 character I made with PS5, and another account I made using PS5 as well when I got POE2.
I bought POE2 via PlayStation store. Then I bought the game on steam to allow me to play on my SD as well so my POE2 account has my PS and Steam accounts connected. The same with others, when I switch to my POE2 account there is no character information at all. When I go on my phone to trade, I've tried logging in with my email I used to create my current POE2 account, I've tried logging in using Steam, and I've tried logging in using my PlayStation account, but no matter what when I try to whisper a seller, I get the same error message.

Ok guys I figured it out. I'm the 2nd account referred to in the post above me.

I created an account for POE1 and logged in via PlayStation.
When POE2 came out I created an account on the POE website.
I then purchased POE2 on PlayStation, as well as on Steam so I can play POE2 on my SD.

This entire time, I thought I created my character using my newest account, the one I created before getting POE2, but I just figured out I was wrong.

When you log into POE2 when you're at the character selection, I noticed on PS5, I could SWITCH MY ACCOUNTS. Both of my accounts were showing up at the select character menu and I could toggle it back and forth pressing R3. And when I did so, I realized I created my POE2 character using my PLAYSTATION log in and not the log in I created in preparation to POE2.

Unfortunately when I was on the character select screen and I toggled to the account I created before getting POE2, I had to choose a character and play the beginning again. Once I got to the village, I was able to exit the game, log out, log back in and I could toggle between my 2 accounts: 1. The PlayStation log in account I used for POE1 and the one I've been playing with THIS ENTIRE TIME for POE2, and 2. My newly created character on the account I created before getting POE2 on PlayStation.

So after realizing this, I logged into the account that had my INITIAL POE2 character that I've been playing with this entire time, I pressed the menu button and entered the trade store while in game on my ps5. I logged in using PlayStation (since the account I'm using, PlayStation network was the mode of log-in, and NOT my Steam or POE log in information) one I cleared my 2FA, I pressed search on the trade website, and whispered the first player on the first item, AND IT WORKED.

I went on my phone, went to the POE2 website, logged in using PlayStation, made sure it was the correct account on the top left, then went to "trade" got on the trade website, again I pressed search with no filters, and on the first item I whispered the seller, AND IT WORKED.

So if anyone sees this, and you have 2 accounts on the POE website:
1. Make sure the account you created your character on is the same account you're logged into the website.
2. Make sure when you log into POE2 for trade, you log in the using the same log in method you used when you created your POE2 character
3. Once that's all verified enter the trade website IN GAME, and see if you can successfully whisper a seller for an item, THEN try going to the POE2 website either on your phone or on a web browser if using PC, log in using the above information, go to the trade website, and try to whisper then.

I hope this information at least helps SOMEONE. If it doesn't help anyone, I apologize.
