Drowning balls: too sneaky in POE2
If you are already under low fps penalty, this mechanic is borderline impossible.
The moment you notice you are standing next to the orb you are dead. Especially if you use Flamewall and already fight visual clutter... pls just remove the 100% kill and make it rather an ehp-check, or remove the slowing and area. duno just do something about this. boss abilities on mobs is too much. GGG needs better QC - yes you do!

Consider investing in "reduced Slowing Potency of Debuffs on You"

I just lost my hardcore character to it and was confused as to what even happened. I googled to see if the water balls were instant death and that's how I found this thread.
What a way to go, dying to an instant death mechanic from a basic mob. I probably could've avoided it if I knew it was going to happen, 40 levels of progress thrown in the trash to a death that I had no idea was coming. |

Definitely bullshit with the slowing mechanic built into that mage. Also one shot my warrior. Must have been a lag spike or a double ball because it killed me in half a second once it appeared. Roll did nothing to mitigate it. I could tank a boss super hit to the face with my 2.3k hp. However, a stupid water ball one shots me. That is nuts. It's too punishing for warriors. I even had 25% move speed boots. Didn't matter for shit. Absolutely mind boggling. No one shots that fast should exist, especially with lag being what it is. Was rolling fine and easy and I got had by a fucking globule of water. What a fucking joke

Probably the worst mechanic I ever saw on PoE. Faced 3 blue of them on the beach after finally beating doryani in HC and there goes my character.
They poped out their vortex and balls at the same time, couldn't even roll out nor run. I will go back on PoE1 and will not play this anymore until I see it's fixed in future patches. |

I dont understand how people are complaining about this (not hating just generally dont see the issue).
The mob that spawns them have hillariously low hp and the ball removes instantly when the mob dies. You can also just dodge roll out of the slow from the ball. My experience is that the mob pretty much dies instantly before I even see the ball, the ball is also quite easy to spot and even if I for some reason dont notice it and I get slowed I can just dodge roll out of it. Maybe someone can explain what the issue is | |
People that are dying to this just want gameplay where you facetank every mob and hold click to kill everything in the screen.
You have to be really bad at the game to die to the water hags in an open area, unless there is a lot of other Rares nearby with very potent slows. |

Usually the mob just dies instantly. When they spawn as rares with some friends and invulerability aura, slowing effects and other rares or blue packs nearby with similar effects they are super deadly.
Open area maps, they are fine (even if I don´t think this should be a normal monster ability in the game) but on some indoor maps where they can hide in small rooms with the door blocked by for example invulnerable monsters then it just feels like bs. I never died to the orbs in PoE1 or 2 but I am seriously against this on normal monsters since I know that if I die to it one day that will feel way worse than dying to some crits or other reasonable abilities. |

" That's it. As a close combat monk, I had to be close to kill them. I had no problem at all in drowned city, but on the beach, you have some parts of the map where you have some kind of corridors, and they were 3 on the other side spamming their vortex and bubbles at the same time. Rolling was not possible due to interactions with the environnement and monsters around. |

" When I see the water rings I just kite the other mobs and kill them first. I never die to them. Do they spawn in Rituals? That would be really infuriating. |
