Massive FPS Drops in POE2
I stopped playing this pathetic POE1 DLC they call a different game

|
" the only explanation for this is that we are the first to test this " pathetic that we are forced to set the game to 480 pixels to be able to play it at all
In the announcment of the upcoming patch neither FPS drops nor perfomance issues were addressed but i am happy that we can now hear Una in A1 while playing music :^)

i also suffer from PFS drops, i have tried the following things and the FPS drop problem persists:
i have gone into windows and changed poe2 to "High performance" didn't help i have gone into nvidia and changed shader cache to 100g. didn't help i have gone into appdata and deleted shader folders. didn't help i have set every setting ingame to the lowest and turned off dynamic resolution. didnt help i have tried playing the game in fullscreen. didn't help i have reinstalled the game. didn't help i have updated nvidia drivers. didn't help i have verified game files. didn't help i have updated windows. didn't help. i have updated all drivers on my pc. didn't help my drops aren't that severe in regular maps (from 60 fps to around 40) except for some areas, e.g. the last map in act 2 and act 3, where they drop to 20 and the shader graph keeps spiking. in the endgame however it's a completely different story. when doing breach or other modes when a lot of monsters are loading, then the game becomes unplayable. the shader graph spikes like crazy constantly and the fps tanks to around 20. when the monsters stop loading in however it stabilizes. the game also keeps crashing when loading new areas and i have to use poe uncrasher to play it without hard locking my PC in those cases i have a nvidia 4070 graphics card, amd 5600x, 16gb of ram and m2 ssd 1TB. i am on windows version 24h2 (i can't roll back, only clean install) |

Would be great to add an option to disable all useless assets, especially végétation.
I'm barely sure that grass and small plants are very bad for the fps. I have much better performances on indoor maps such as augury (even if it's boring). Same for acts ; all exterior maps were very laggy. I agree with the fact that some effects are completely killing my fps. Especially on death effects, and apparition effects on sanctum (hourglass encounters are around 10fps). Fogs, delirium, breach, boxes fog are very bad too. Could be nice to implement a 'low config' option allowing to disable those things, because I can't play with a constant 25 fps. I always drop under 15 fps. |

" This issue is not on OUR side of the game. This has to be fixed by GGG, if it will ever happened. Since this server delay, lag out of sync issues has been a problem all along in POE1 and still are in POE2. I have the same problems still after trying out the numerous of tips and tricks out there. NOTHING helps. WHY is that? I have an high end gaming PC and all other games I play are running smooth as hell. POE2 is a "nightmare" FPS and LAG-wise. Because the problem is on the server side. The servers are having the issues. The servers are running the game as well and more particles/ things on screen are more for the servers to have to keep synced. So they lag more when more stuff is happening on screen. It's why you'll see the game play fast speed catch-up. It is not on our end. Nothing we do is going to fix it. It's a server issue that GGG has to address and fix the problem. Last edited by Bautaen202#5089 on Jan 14, 2025, 2:47:52 AM

I dont understand, some maps are clearly bugged, like Savannah and Fortress.
For example map Blooming Field looks really good but barely drop fps and on other hand map like Savannah(there is literally fking nothing, just sand, why it tanks fps so badly?) I know my rig is pretty much outdated(i7 9700f + 2060 super but it's a little bit better than recommended settings) Its really sad they didnt adress it in patch announcement. |

I am also getting pretty bad FPS issues here. The ingame stats with F1 show a maxed out CPU graph which made me think my CPU is capping at 100% but observing it through task manager and project lasso the game seems to run steady on 50% CPU usage with a short spike to 80% at map completion and 100% during loading screens.
I tried setting the process priority to realtime and change the ingame graphics options but nothing seems to make any big impact except disabling multi threading which will drop the FPS down to a constant 40ish FPS. In the hideout I'm averaging 80 FPS and during maps I will drop down to as low as 25FPS. The general FPS while gameplay is around 40FPS which is not enjoyable at all. It's a shame this does not seem to be adressed much or has a priority to fix so I'm gonna hold of on playing for now. This issue just far outweights the enjoyment right now. OS: Windows 11 Pro 23H2 CPU: 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-11600K @ 3.90GHz GPU: GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER, Driver version: 566.36 RAM: 32GB DDR4 Storage: WD Black SN850X 1TB M.2 NVME SSD
I experienced a pretty decent slow down on sun temple; something is going on with that map. i'm on a decent rig+4090

Endgame is unplayable my fps drops to 20 fps because of frostbolt with wildshards. Actually it drops "EVEN" without Wildshards. Same goes with fireball. Actually "ANY" skills can lag this game. And actually no, not just endgame, it is throughout the game especially in boss battles.
POE 1 of course runs smoothly. But no, actually endgame of POE 1 still lag if multiple projectiles is on the screen. So I am losing hope a bit with optimization. I am frustrated because I really really like the game. But every day, I am googling ways to fix stutters and performance problems, is tiring. Sure it is still EA. The system requirements is not real. R5 5600x, 16gb 3200mhz, RX 6600, W11 24H2 on an SSD. |
