Massive FPS Drops in POE2

I upgraded to an i-9900K because I though the processor bottleneck was the main issue.

But I still get drops to 10-40 FPS during high action moments in maps.

The low frames last the entire action make it hard to dodge, and annoying to play. I've given up on playing and spend my time trying to troubleshoot or playing other games.

Specs:

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080
Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-9900K CPU @ 3.60GHz (Boost 4.7Ghz)
64 GB 3600 MHz Ram
Win 11

Thanks for the info, that saves a lot of money for many others, because I was also afraid that it was due to the CPU. What I can't quite understand is that many streamers don't have these problems to this extent. Many don't display the FPS, so we don't notice it as much. From what I've seen, most of them play with VSYNC off and then drop from 140 FPS down to 80 FPS. Without FPS displayed, most viewers don't notice it I guess.

I don't think upgrading the GPU or CPU will improve performance at all, as you can see from your and others HIGH-END SPECS.

I feel as if my only solution is all new hardware, entire new system.

I just reinstalled Win11 from scratch, going to see if this helps!

Just to tell that you're not alone.

I'm having the same issue, during maps I'm between 13 and 40 fps which results in me yelling insults at all of New Zealand.

3070TI + Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-12700H.

Didn't see this listed as a top priority issue which really bothers me.

:( sad. and frustrating!

I gave up trying to figure this out.

I am using GeForce Now cloud gaming until my new PC parts arrive.

the cloud gaming is playing PoE just fine

This is really insane, there are 141 pages of threads containing the word “FPS”. This thread alone has over 15924 views. If this isn't addressed in the next patch I'll be truly speechless.

Also having significant performance issues. Was running the game at 140-180+ fps in almost all areas up until last night. Now I get <60 in town and huge fps drops with large mobs (<20 while fighting queen of filth). Drivers all up to date, re-installed the game, lowered graphics settings, tried changing between Vulkan/DX12 - no improvements in performance.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7700X
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 7900XT
32GB RAM
OS: Windows 11

I have a similar problem, for a few days drops to 20-30fps. I think one of the latest fixes made the problem even worse.
I have the same issue. The problem is even more visiable for Steam application :/

Redownloading shaders or changing power plans does nothing.

Drops to <10 fps while breaching
This should be among the highest of priorities. Most vocal people, therefore streamers, don't talk about it as much as they tend to have the best PCs, a significant majority do not understand how underperformant the game is under certain scenarios/events and outright dismiss this idea without actually having any clue on what's happening, or are simply not "techy".

Point of contention: Please focus on performance optimization, mainly, CPU optimization.

funny how many people have this problem with High End PCs.
especially this part triggers me hard: "Death of a Rare Monster (Corruption comes out of the ground) FPS drops down to 28 FPS here!"

like.. why put such an animation in the game in the first place? you cant see ground effects and it's just annoying and nearly everyone drop FPS hard there..

my only solution for breaches was dynamic resolution.. so if it drops below 60 it gets upscaled. FSR doesn't work well for me, even tho i'm on AMD, so i just use the cheap upscaling.

they need to fix the drops tho. i don't even wanna start with group play, we basicly create 2 man teams at max, because otherwise you can only hold mouse 1 and hope for the best, nice gameplay
