0.9.11's End-game Maps system unveiled

" Yep. And it adds to exploration as well. So one thing: It should be highly satisfying if some maps would consist of otherworldly stuff, completely unexpected things, let your fantasy spring as it already does xD! I sense a lot of Stargate possibilities right here. But already: Incredibly good job. |

Its not unique idea... they had teleports to randomly generated maps with endboss in Mythos and probably not only there.
However its good system to make grinding endgame gear and late lvls more fun. I like it. I have runes, potions and total disregard of public safety.

The unique aspect here is that you can alter the content of the random instance. You couldn't do that in Torchlight or Mythos (Mythos Runegate maps had drops biased towards certain item types based on the color of the rune, but that was the only difference between them).
I see this as yet another example of GGG taking a preexisting idea and making it better. Closed Beta/Alpha Tester back after a 10-year hiatus.

Are you selling base maps ("white" without any mods/quality) in the item shop?
| |
" From what I can tell they won't be selling maps in the item shop. If you read the dev diary, they state it's not meant to be an easy item to obtain, and if you clear a map you won't necessarily receive one as a drop to continue to the next. You might have to run fellshrine a few times or late boss runs to find yourself some new maps. |
|
" No, you're missing the point that this is the new "End Game" system. Why would they sell end game features at an NPC lol. i go hard on my nintendo Last edited by DysleXic#7401 on Jun 26, 2012, 5:59:16 PM

0.9.11 will not have a character wipe or legacy migration. It will most likely have a passive tree reset, though.
