Replacing Runes on Gear
" Supporting this. I doubt with how runes are currently the answer will be remove/reuseable runes, if a new currency is added that allows you to save the rune from said item instead of destroying it to open the slot, i wouldn't think that's a bad idea. I am fully convinced the best option to hope for here is "remove/destroy previous runes" and think the idea is a fair one to ask for. |

whoever thought this is good for the game should honestly not work in the gaming industry
why do I have to change like 3 pieces of my gear when I find one piece that's better than mine? I should be happy for finding a good piece of gear, but instead I'm like "shit, here we go again, on my way to spend 3 hours to balance resists". why though? how does this help anyone? how does this make the game better? harvest resistance swap option was one of the most well-received changes in the history of poe 1, and you can't even say that it's power creep, it just makes sense, and now we can't even change runes if you're trying to reinvent the wheel, make sure it's not a damn square Last edited by auspexa#1404 on Dec 17, 2024, 9:12:11 AM

Yep, allow us to replace runes please.

Being able to replace socketables (while destroying the one currently socketed) seems like a good idea.
Having to commit on a resi sucks quite a bit and also probably hurts the resell value of your gear, same is true if you would want to use a more niche rune for your build. |

Reposting what I discussed in another thread, some of these ideas have already been discussed:
I hope GGG sees threads like these, as they have to be swimming on feedback (a good portion not constructive). The ideas here are really good, very similar to what I was thinking: Give us the ability to "wipe an item clean", specifically runes (no changes to affixes like POE1 scouring as it seems GGG wants to move away from this). Charge us gold and transmutes/augments based on item level, then destroy the rune, remove the rune slot, and remove all the quality. Like others said, this gives more value to the lesser currencies by creating another sink for transmutes/augments, whetsones, scraps, etchers, and artificers, along with gold. Something like gold price 100x item level, augments 20% of item level, done at a new interface of the salvage bench, or bring the NPC that awarded the salvage bench to the hideout. You want to change that 12% fire resist to cold on that iLVL 70 helm? Cool, then pay 7000 gold, 14 augments, quality it back to 20% with a dozen(ish) scraps, use an artificer orb, then put that new rune in! :D

I don't care if I lose the damn rune, but for gods sake, let me carve that shit out with a hammer and chisel, like a glued-in O-Ring

+1
I think this is needed especially during the leveling progress so that it becomes easier to adjust your resistances etc. |

Some great feedback, thanks guys!
