The game is not even in beta yet, its early access, where the game is still in development, My guess is they will get everything in time, I think they are still trying to make the core mechanics right, before moving on.

Early access by definition means beta is done, that the game reached mechanical completion of the core engine functions, for video games reached the gameloop ready in all base functions state, and otherwise checkboxed everything for silver status/gamma/release stable/code complete and functional.

Without pointing out these things and pressuring by the people in the prior stages of development is exactly why and how unfinished/"not production ready" software reaches production.

Please go to wikipedia and lookup the term Early Access.

The early access you're talking about is when you buy the $100 package to play a couple days earlier than those who buy the pedestrian package. PoE 2 is in Steam's Early Access, which means it might be in development for multiple years. Even the version is 0.1.1 which indicates that it's in quite an early stage of the development. So no, it's not complete.

This was a giant disappointment for me as well. I had a build planned around Despair + Decaying Hex + Open Sores and played to get everything, only to find that it didn't work. I get that the game is still in beta but why open it up with no fun combos? GGG seems to hate fun.

I highly doubt they will make open sore work with decaying as you could just curse the boss once and run around till he dies they more than likely wont allow that.

I would prefer open sores to become a 2 node system where it allows for an additional curse and the second node to be all curses are applied on 1 cast
or
some skill get allocated to you that triggers all curses
or
vile aura that applies all socketed curses.

Decaying could have a multiplier based on the number of curses on a enemy this creates an investment cost as you would have to sacrifice ascendancy 4 points, tree points plus at least 1-2 ring slots to create a powerful death aura.

but currently with wanting open sores to work with decaying it becomes a 1 cast keep your distance build with little to no investment/sacrifice that i don't see happening

Decaying hex works the same as impending doom but is missing the proper explanation text: "supports Curse skills you cast yourself". I think they should just update that in the next patch as a hexing aura seems a bit too strong.
