System: PlayStation 5 (base)
Settings: Upscale mode: FSR Max image quality: Ultra Performance Dynamic Resolution: On Dynamic Culling: On Lighting: Shadows only Target refresh rate: 60hz The game struggles to keep up with the target refresh rate most of the time. I usually (but not exclusively) play in couch co-op mode with my wife using sorc with flame wall + spark combo, which does not help the performance and I'm aware of that. But still. Here's an example from the manor, where simply being one tile(?) away from the boss arena, makes the game dip down into ~30fps: Direct link: https://i.ibb.co/Qc6YCHY/POE2-Performance.jpg GGG, I was happy that you gave consoles some love with the introduction of the proper PS5 port of the first game. It ran and looked better than before. With PoE 2, I was fully aware that I can't expect a complete, optimized game during Early Access. But then again, these kind of issues trouble me. The game is heavy on various graphic effects, yeah. However, the gameplay itself is too punishing if you can't trust the performance to be on point with all the things happening on screen. And we're still talking about Act 1 on normal. What about the rest of the game? And I don't care if it's a fair comparison or not, but during my ~300h of D4 experience I did not have (or did not feel) a single dip below 60fps, and that game floods your screen with mobs and on-screen effects from the enemies, environment and other players alike. I really wish you could take a look at the performance on consoles sooner than right before or after releasing 1.0. Last edited by johnsnake1990#9797 on Dec 18, 2024, 5:53:07 AM

I was thinking of posting another threat, but I saw this one.
I'm the same as your post owner, pS5 monk, and soc. fps always 20~30. It feels really bad. And one more thing: I did not expect my wife and I playing on one account, and we share all resources. wow, It should be 2 account logins right? Last edited by lucky0511#6274 on Dec 18, 2024, 5:54:52 AM

" There is no need to be overly dramatic. It's been only 2 weeks since the launch. As you can see in all the GGG posts if something is not mentioned in the patch notes or known issues does not mean they're not aware of this problem. We're in the early access, so technically they can take months to optimize the game. I wouldn't count on an easy fix within couple of days of creating this post. We'll have to be patient and hope that the game is well optimized for consoles on its full release. The only sad thing is we bought this EA thinking it will at least be playable and now we have to wait until the game gets better performance knowing it could take a lot of time. |

" For sure, but I've bought EA thinking this will be PLAYABLE small part of the game with some obvious bugs. But we're talking about game, which working in 20fps on the most powerful console on the market. Still, no one prevents GGG just to admit bad consoles performance and tell us "we know, we'll optimize it". EA means that company is fully responsive and fully transparent in all aspects of the game, for all management of customers expectations. EA doesn't mean just drop unplayable technically piece of code, without any visible commitment to do something with it. Fixing bugs and nerfing builds is nothing while your FPS is 20. " Well from optimatizion experiences from poe1 i think to be dramatic is right. |
|
So people saying dramatic weird how the issue is really bad and both consoles are experiencing really bad optimization issues..... we are beyond early access we have access to 3 acts and end game/maps..... they should of just let consoles out of early access and tested more, they GGG said with their own words we will have console more in mind for POE2 .... they are doing the opposite and nothing is being addressed we also payed money for this.. so its good to have actual feed back as a consumer... but i guess ok to have crappy end game and maps on console...

I also play on PC with an RTX 2080, and I’m experiencing FPS drops. The game was released in early access, but it’s clearly not optimized at this stage. On consoles, the problem is even worse, they’re making buffs and nerfs, but they don’t talk about the performance issues at all.

What they are trying to implement here? Buy our game, with it help us to improve PC version? Its sucks when you are paying the same amount but all focus going on PC? It’s not fair. Whoever saying wait for it, why should we? What is the purpose of making patch of nerf when people can’t even play for 5 mins straight. Im sorry but it should have been addressed before other updates.

Same issue here both on 60 and 120 hz , with all gfx settings. Even ultra performance runs as bad as standard at times which makes no sense :)
I do love the game and have been playing nothing else since launch. Had to roll away from sorcerer because it was too demanding for the graphics. Which is not optimal. |
