bump, how could this not be in the game?

Even as someone who's played POE on and off since release, I'm baffled by GGG's refusal to be able to mouse over debuff icons to see what they actually are.

I just want to know why really, like, in almost any game you can think of, the ability to look at your enemy's debuffs, and certainly the ones you apply yourselves, is a standard for RPGs.

It's just extremely disruptive and frankly, annoying, looking at an enemy with 4-5 icons with no idea what they even do.

Instead, you have to scour forums and Poe wiki, which is something I accept in most cases but

To simply look for what a debuff icon stands for shouldn't be one of them.

and in a lot of cases, there just isn't any info that you can link to. the poedb.tw people, who presumably are the best at datamining, don't always have the answer, which means mere mortals aren't getting it either.

For instance, it is common wisdom that the Wild Bristle Matron spectres roar debuffed 40% action speed, but there is still no source for this. not in google, in terms of someone finding it in game and having a screenie, not in poewiki, and not in poedb.tw. I eventually took a second account into the arena and confirmed this, but it's impossible to screenshot as proof since all you see is the total action speed modifier, which is indeed -40 if you squint, but the icon doesn't have a mouseover, so you're still taking it on a fwiw basis.

I love what GGG has done with the new game, so much win here, but some more transparency about what does what would be even better.

only some monster debuffs are available in poedb.tw. Where the actual information is stored for these in game data is something not even the poedb.tw people are able to access with the tools they're using, or the settings. It seems like many debuffs are given a placeholder, but not any information.

For instance, the wild bristle matron's roar. it's listed in both the mob and spectre tabs, but no information is given. I can tell you that it does what people says it does, -40% action speed debuff, probably 4s with base 8s or so CD, but there's nothing you can link to to prove that. Even going into the arena, the debuff has no mouseover, so the most you can do is bring up defense on your character, where it will show -40% action speed, assuming you have no other modifiers active.

This is the first question I've asked chatgpt and it didn't have an answer. It just said check the forums and wiki. Otherwise the AI has been pretty solid on POE info.
Please implement a sticky enemy bar by pressing alt like tooltips.

+1 to this. While in some Areas GGG has brought ARPGs forward they are still so Draconian with BASIC things (Like a Combat log to see what killed you) Its kinda frustrating and it seems like most time went into Creating lame on death kill effects vs placing things that make explaining the complex systems better, Coming from a POE1 Player not a newb.
