POE 2 Debuff and Buff Icon explanation
I was disappointed it seems you can't just mouse over enemy icons to try and see what they do.

This info would be really helpful in the actual game...

Definitely in the same boat. Mostly when it comes to countering enemies and seeing their "icons" under their health bar. What do they all mean?
I get the general idea of the icons based on fire, shock, ice, shields, etc. But what do the color indicators mean? Some icons are red, some are grey, some are beige/tan/gold? lol As much effort that GGG has put into making the game "new user friendly", they still have a liiiiiitle ways to go lol |

Even as someone who's played POE on and off since release, I'm baffled by GGG's refusal to be able to mouse over debuff icons to see what they actually are.
I just want to know why really, like, in almost any game you can think of, the ability to look at your enemy's debuffs, and certainly the ones you apply yourselves, is a standard for RPGs. It's just extremely disruptive and frankly, annoying, looking at an enemy with 4-5 icons with no idea what they even do. Instead, you have to scour forums and Poe wiki, which is something I accept in most cases but To simply look for what a debuff icon stands for shouldn't be one of them. |

" Exactly. Let me just hover over and see. Or provide me with a key of some sort in a codex. |

This is clearly one area GGG could improve. Even for PoE 1 the icon explanations are quite hard to find and many of them are unintuitive.
So far, what I know is this: * When our character is debuffed / buffed, we can hover over the icon for an explanation, even though in the middle of fights it may not be easy. * The resistance icons on enemies are red when they are vulnerable, silver when they have some resistance and gold when their resistance is higher. Armor icon for physical resistance, snowflake for frost, etc. I hope they make an in-game glossary, with some resource to facilitate looking for icons we've recently seen. |
