10% xp penalty is far too frustrating

The reality is that XP loss is irrelevant. If you are dying so much you cant progress then something is wrong with your build, and gaining 1 level isnt going to fix it.

But this doesnt solve anything. GGG wants to make leveling meaningful and wants to create a hard wall for people if they cannot do content. They dont want people to just brute force their way to level 100, dying over and over and over and over again with endless portals in maps. FFS POE 2 has really drawn in a lot of casual players. D4 already exists if you want to reach level 100 and literally feel nothing because its not an accomplishment and means absolutely nothing.

So I don't understand all these D4 comparisons all the time. I really don't care for that game.
If I play a game and my wife comes home or my dog wants to jump into my lap, I don't want to be all tense and push my dog aside. If I die because of the little man I'd like to just laugh it off. Which becomes hard, if you see 3 hours of gametime running down the drain.

Level 100 in PoE already means nothing. In PoE 1 you buy 5-way legion rotas. Premade groups get it within the first 24 hours of a league launch. I'm sure people will find out a way to cleverly use game mechanics to get lvl100 quickly in PoE 2, and sell it as a trade service for X amount of currency. And many people will gladly pay that price, because why grind to 100 when it's that punishing and boring? No point.

Correct!
But why the additional punishment then?

For me the difficulty with POE has alway been to create an own build that works - without using a build guide. If the build doesn't work - there, there is the punishment.

Nobody is going to brute force its way to level 100 by dying 6 times per map, how many months is that going to take. Who is crazy enough to do that ?

Am I the only who just feel that dying sux even without a penalty ?

When you play other games with no death penalty (which is 99.9% of games) and you die ? Do you try to get better or do you brute force mindlessly ?

Imagine signing up for a marathon race when your last jog was a quick 5 minutes around the block.

If elon musk can find time to play, no one has any excuse.

Elon Musk has an unbelievable amount of money, to pretend his day to day is anything like us plebians is just stupid. He also doesn't sleep.

the exp loss has always been and will always be dumb, it should just be removed on softcore. GGG needs to get over the fact softcore players exist and aren't interested in losing so much time
I get the feeling that all of you, who are for all these on death penalties (Exp,time, investment loss) are also in favor of forced PvP servers in other games. Which, over time, leads to that server turning into single faction only, practically eliminating said forced PvP.

The idea is novel, the implementation - always miserable. Just like communism ^^

With the very few elites at the top of the game enjoying themselves and laughing at others misery.
