this just in, a brand new game that was hyped up for years has more players than a 6 month old league that the devs abandoned months ago...more breaking news at 6!

but it's 6 month old hihihi
Did you took my previous post seriously as a literal invitation to write dumb shit ? Last league was PoE 1 most popular league EVER and as always it died 2 months later just like every . single . league . before . it .
Most popular league and not even surpassed the current numbers an EA game that got 2/3 of content unreleased .
but PoE 2 got hype that's not fair
That's deserved because GGG actually tried to make the gameplay more enticing to the larger audience compared to a PoE 1 with it's fossilized & bloated mechanics which only appeal to gamers with fossilized brains stuck in the past .

As a veteran Poe player who has played in almost every league since Ambush/Invasion in 2014, I'll put my 2 cents into this discussion.
I'm firmly in the camp of those who wait for the announcement of 3.26.
Had a blast playing campaign in Poe2, truthfully. In my opinion, the game has impressive graphics, great spell animations, and level design that perfectly fits the game style, especially in Acts #2 and #3. Being Sanctum enjoyer in Poe1, I'm even in favor of such 'debated' topic as new Ascendancy trial.
Yet, I completely agree with those who critize the current state of Poe2 Endgame. Probably my expectations for POE2 were too high, but I was ultimately left dissapointed by many of the decisions the developers made. Maybe I just chose a class with the gameplay that wasn't right for me and was too slow-paced (@arsonists summons that constantly stuck in doorways), but I decided to drop EA after reaching ~80lvl and playing only ~60h.
Thus, I'm patiently waiting for the 3.26 Ruthless League. Greatly enjoyed playing Ruth Affliction, Ruth Necropolis and Ruth Settlers, self-completing 8/8 challenges each league and even managing to kill 4/7 Ubers during the last two leagues :P .
Sure, the Ruthless mode in its current state is far from ideal and could be improved in many aspects. But I sincerely hope that the GGG will not abandon the Ruthless idea and the futher development of the Poe 1 game in general.
#Team Poe 1. #Team 3.26. #Team Ruthless mode!

yes leagues die after 2 months. its normal. poe2 ea will die after 2 months also. especially if we get a new poe league. numbers already dropped by a lot since ea launch. get back to me with the numbers after poe league releases. people will always play what is new.

If you feel you need to resort to be rude and insulting to those who might have different tastes than you to prove whatever point you're trying to make, perhaps you could reflect on how that makes you look instead?
Anyhow, I'd much rather have a fossilized brain than whatever brain you have.

I posted this somewhere else and still don't know what the answer is.
Your chart may be apples to oranges, but not for the reasons others are saying. In terms of measuring Steam users for POE1 (Not China) vs POE2, it's very good. I would assume a similar 1:1 scaling for standalone client for POE1 (Not China) vs POE2.
China has its own POE1. I'm not sure it has a dedicated POE2. So anyone on the Chinese POE1 servers would then flow into the same steam POE2 count that wont be accounted for in POE1 Steam numbers.
I'm also assuming Steam is available in China; which I've not checked.
I'm not advocating a position, just stating that there are variables here that may not be accounted for.

You can't make this shit up lol .
I started playing in the early 90's , the industry can only move forward when self proclaimed gate-keepers stop holding back studios with their ignorant conservatism .

Great point if it is true , i was not aware of that .

You seemed to miss my point. By being insulting and condescending, you're just knocking yourself off whatever higher ground you think you might be on.
Playing since the early 90's? I'm assuming you mean playing games and if that somehow gives you more credibility, well I've been playing since the early 80's, not that I think that means much.
Ignorant conservatism? I'm not that opposed to change and innovation, I'm just not convinced that change just for the sake of change is always for the best.
The changes in POE 2 haven't done anything for me yet as far as what I like and don't like. Maybe in the future it will, but certainly not now. The best change for me is being able to pause the game and that's just about the only one I like.
You're essentially arguing about personal tastes, if the ridiculousness of that hasn't struck you yet.
