This game is f*cking unplayable on my PC

Same with me. Seems like POE2 doesn't work on gaming laptops, because i also didn't have an option to choose discrete graphic card. So game launches only on integrated graphics. And switching to discrete on windows settings doesn't help - game could nut launch with this settings at all, and crashes.

I have AMD card and CPU.

Waiting for some fix. But yes, it is unplayable right now.
I've still got gtx 1060 and have decent performance, so definitely something wrong with the selection of graphic card in the game display options.

You're saying 16 GB is not enough to play this game? 16 GB is more than I need for Control, FFS.

To be fair, 16GB is way too low for the modern days. 32GB at the very least.

I'm on a 8086k and a 3080ti and I have everything maxed and play at 80-120fps.

Yep kinda same got a decade old i7 and 1070 - still getting stable 50-60 fps (out of town kekw). Not on the lowest settings.

If that's your problem, then here's the fix
Both for NVIDIA and AMD

To OP, if you don't see RTX 4070 listed in the graphics settings, try this as well

For NVIDIA Control Panel:
Open NVIDIA Control Panel:

Right-click on your desktop and select "NVIDIA Control Panel" from the context menu.

Manage 3D Settings:

In the NVIDIA Control Panel, click on "Manage 3D settings" on the left-hand side.

Program Settings:

Click on the "Program Settings" tab.

Under "Select a program to customize," click "Add" to find the game you want to set the graphics card for. If the game is not listed, you can browse for the executable file (.exe) of the game.

Select Preferred Graphics Processor:

Under "Select the preferred graphics processor for this program," choose "High-performance NVIDIA processor" from the drop-down menu.

Click "Apply" to save the changes.

For AMD Radeon Software:
Open AMD Radeon Software:

Right-click on your desktop and select "AMD Radeon Software" from the context menu.

Graphics Settings:

Click on the "Settings" icon (gear icon) in the top right corner.

Go to the "Graphics" tab.

Add Game:

Under "Graphics Settings," click on "Browse" to find the game you want to set the graphics card for. If the game is not listed, you can browse for the executable file (.exe) of the game.

Select High Performance:

Once the game is added, click on it and select "High Performance" to ensure it uses the dedicated AMD graphics card.

Click "Apply" to save the changes.

Does your PC have an integrated GPU? (from CPU or MOBO)
Sounds like the game might be using it instead of your RTX 4070

Nope! Just the 4070
Okay, there's too many people to reply to all at once while I'm at work, so I'll just say thanks and try out these suggestions when I get home!

You shouldn't have any problem.
You might have some old drivers ghosting up the machine.

How would I even begin to handle that?
