What the heck is happening with Act II‽ (Spoiler warning for basically the entire plotline)

"

Everything must be written as if we are 10 year old children

i was born in london in 1981. when i was 7, 8, 9 years old growing up in the uk me and all my friends were raised on a diet of british science fiction for kids, aka judge dredd and warhammer. apocalyptic levels of fascism and evil in all directions, there is no good guys its just shades of awful.

we all grew up to be quite anti fascist people who believe in universal equal rights with a strong sense of social morals, fairness and solidarity.

i agree with a lot of what you are saying here and honestly, even a 10 year old is safe to be fed brutal fictional worlds, is capable of understanding its art and enjoying it. honestly i think feeding a growing mind a restricted diet of sanitised superhero junkfood is probably the unhealthy option.

ive been reading a lot of fantasy fiction recently, the malazan book of the fallen by steven erikson. when i saw those ghoulish slaves dragging the caravan in on the load screen i thought it was great, it was so in the vein of the really harsh worlds in those books. ggg have really good taste in aesthetics, tone, vibes.
What is the problem ? do you need to be the hero all the time XD
you know in POE 1 , you are the bad guy right? in delirium league ,
you from the future hunts , you the current player , to punish you for bringing ruin to the entire world .

its dark fantasy , get over it .
its good to be on the winning team
OP, you make a good point, and I am surprised by the amount of triggered snowflakes in here in response to your views

the world is a complicated place, why not reflect that in video games as well?

is the world complicated, or is the same as it's always been? absolute power corrupts absolutely and all that? the exploitation of "superiors" over their perceived lessers is a tale as old as time, but that doesnt mean we should revel in it.

The sekhema is kinda pretty though.

I was wondering when the circus clowns emerge.

You, and people like you, are the reason AAA games are dying. You want everything sanitized and written through the lens of real world societal issues and politics.
Everything must be written as if we are 10 year old children, everything white must be demonised, etc.

Thank god for GGG, and we need more like them, for sticking to their created world. Wraeclast is a brutal, dark, and tragic place. It's an unforgiving place where the strong succed and the weak die in horrible ways. I'm glad some people still have the balls to show a world for what it really is.

Also, just so you know, slavery is till a thing in the real world today; albeit slightly different than the classical definition. If you're so upset about it, go make a difference instead of crying about it being portrayed in a video game.

TL:DR: it's fantasy, have the maturity to make the distinction.

The path of the Exile is one pathed in blood. It's what the games about.

Good post +1

My brother in Innocence, We slaughter civilians and unleash a devouring chaos god upon them in PoE1.

This isn't a game about being the good guys. It is a game about killing god to become god.
