Great write up! I was just about to post much the same sentiments, but this post delivers the feedback better than I would have put it.

you did forget to talk of the ascendancy trial and the boss that are unplayable for some build:
- ascendancy trial, they are overtuned, the one from the Act 2 can simply destroy you, the affliction is the first glaring problem some can litterally destroy your build, you play warrior with max armor, get an affliction that remove your armor totally! and it's even possible to reach a lot of affliction in one floor, i had a run with more of 12 affliction! and the really problem is the honor system. play a warrior with a shield and you are screwed over... you can't block because it's counted as taking damage and your honor reduce. the whole thing is tailored if you play a ranged, if you play a melee you are good to be dodge, attack one time, dodge, attack one time, and on and on. and same for the one from act 3 each modifier can be simply deadly... you have one that even make you unable to regain charge from kill leading you to have no flask or charm... i did wait to be 45 as monk for beat it and it was a close one, i had to retry this trial 5 time simply because of the modifier that was destroying me. (the trial is 38 the first time) - boss mechanic, i will not repeat the thing about boss one shoot, for me this sort of thing must be banish to the dark realms... but litterally mechanic that make some build unable to beat them... i have a friend that like to play tank build, you have a boss in the act 3 with the lava running down... he will be unable to beat it. it's pointless to try. as monk with a very decent build and gears i was able to beat it at level 45 with a lot of margin... but i deal extrem damage. if someone don't have enough dps this boss is impossible. honestly, the whole trouble is this boss are in the campaign, not even the endgame and we already have this sort of bullshit? challenge yes, but they need to remember darksoul work because it's a solo game where dieing is ok. you can always succeed by retry immediatly... here that not the case i'm scared for the pinnacle boss, you die, you need to find them back? only one try? seriously? in the states of the game it's insanity. imagine in dark soul you die one time you need to restart the game each time.... |

i've uninstalled it cause, with rage I broke my keyboard and my screen ( 2k 240Hz Asus) so I think it's a good moment to stop

So far I like everything, made it to t2 maps.
But this is prolly because I gambled on the right build (good old d2 cold sorc) and even then some bosses were tough (esp. that spear lady in A3). However, for the most part I agree with OP. There MUST be a way to improve your gear if you hit a wall, and this improvement should not eat too much time. I'm not a game dev, donno how to do it. Maybe just make all fights easier, so that you won't be dependent on loot too much. |

Disagree, the loot is fine, feels rewarding, and drops plenty, you have been spoiled by years of absurd loot explosions turned to 11 which grew league by league. Loot matters again and has weight. You actually feel happy when you drop an orb. The game is now better.
